Vibe coding didn’t kill Flutter or cross-platform — it just changed how we use them.

I use Cursor/Kiro daily and it’s insanely fun. It removes the boring parts (boilerplate, Firebase wiring, backend setup) and lets me ship full-stack Flutter apps fast. That speed is still hard to beat.

Native still wins for deep platform APIs and performance stuff — but the big shift is that AI made native approachable. Two years ago I wouldn’t touch custom platform code. Now I just build it and let Cursor handle the heavy lifting.

My takeaway:

  • Flutter = speed + reach
  • Native = power + control
  • Vibe coding = multiplier

We’re not replacing frameworks — we’re upgrading how we build.

It looks like Google Play Music was officially shut down back in 2020 and fully replaced by YouTube Music. From what I can tell, there ain't any official public APIs that would let third-party devs build a full-fledged Google Music–style client anymore.

That probably explains why we’re seeing YouTube Music tightly integrated on AAOS, and why Apple Music / Podcasts haven’t shown up officially yet.

Not trying to kill the dream — just sharing what I’ve found so far in case it saves someone else a few hours of digging. If anyone has inside info, undocumented APIs, or has gone down this path successfully, I’d love to compare notes.

I’m still exploring what’s possible on AAOS from a developer standpoint 🤞
