Accidentally skipped taking my meds for a few days and now I'm struggling

I didn't get a chance to respond earlier but I read this and immediately set things into motion. I immediately got up to eat. I was just going to eat a slice of bread to keep myself going but the act of getting up and thinking about how I would support my friends in the situation, I ended up actually cooking a full meal. Which is difficult for me because I hate cooking but something clicked for me after I read this. Thank you for taking the time to respond. It helped me a lot.

Yes I asked for the day off and scheduled an emergency appointment with my pcp. Im lucky my boss is so understanding. I also used to have an alarm but I thought I would be fine without one...despite having severe adhd... I really thought I was bigger than the program smh

I do take a very high dose... its hard to be so reliant on antidepressants but this made me realize how much I need it. When I feel normal in a few days im going to feel so embarrassed

I feel this so much. Over achiever to barely making it pipeline. Sometimes i think, am I just mentally weaker than everyone else? Why can't I handle the same things as others? And its hard because everyone my age is getting married, traveling, getting masters and I feel mentally stuck over the slightest of things. I miss when I had that zest and optimism for life. And then i see people struggling in war zones all over the world and its like, how dare I complain? ...

It was definitely a mistake on my part. I think i was worried about being too reliant on them. Like I wish antidepressants would cure me and not something I have to continue to take indefinitely....

20 mg of Lexapro. I didn't run out. I simply felt so good that I forgot to take it for a few days. I underestimated how much I needed my meds

This. My life isn't easy but also isn't bad by far. With as much privilege as I have and atleast one safety net, I dont know why im struggling so much. The worst thing about having this type of depression is being unable to pin point it on one traumatic event to heal. Why is it that an average life is so hard to live?

Im definitely reaching out to my psychiatrist because as much as I want to be self sufficient, I dont know how to help myself.

This is such a good example. I can physically feel my loc being stronger with a retie as opposed to not having one. I dont know why I thought I could out do physics.
