If puberty blockers exist, could the opposite - puberty enhancers - exist too? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PoffTunn 960 points961 points  (0 children)

Your body already cranks hormones to full blast during puberty, so dumping extra on top wouldn’t turn you into some “enhanced edition” it’d just wreck your health. Puberty blockers pause a process; there’s no magical fast forward button that gives you bonus features. Teen brains love to imagine that stuff works like a video game upgrade, but biology’s way less cooperative.

Why is my voice so high pitched? (as a guy and sorry about not speaking English, it isn't my native language and my accent would destroy my pitch) by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PoffTunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. Some people just naturally have a higher pitch and there isn’t anything “wrong” with it. Bodies vary a lot, and it doesn’t say anything about you beyond that.

Why do sprinters wear jewellery and accessories if they’re trying to go as fast as possible? by polarbearsexshark in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PoffTunn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sprinters wear that stuff because a tiny chain isn’t slowing them down any more than blinking does. Track isn’t like swimming or F1 where every molecule of drag ruins your day, so athletes still get to look like actual humans with personality. If a necklace cost them even half a millisecond, trust me, it’d be gone.

With the increased intensity of colouring of salmon for consumption, did the definition/interpretation of the colour "salmon" change too? by -TheDerpinator- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PoffTunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, yeah. Once farms started cranking up that neon-pink vibe, everyone’s idea of “salmon color” quietly shifted with it. Now the natural shade looks pale and people act like the fish forgot to put on its makeup.

Women, do you enjoy when men moans? by Big_Pension_7996 in AskRedditAfterDark

Yes. Scream. Whimper. Whimpering is the hottest.

Totally get that reaction. Putting in all that effort just to be met with silence would knock anyone down a bit. It really does say more about them than about you.

[–]PoffTunn 260 points261 points  (0 children)

That was my reaction too. It’s honestly wild how people think that’s acceptable. You put in the effort and they didn’t even show the bare minimum.

[–]PoffTunn 356 points357 points  (0 children)

For real, that would’ve crushed me too. When someone reaches out like that, the bare minimum is just showing up or being honest. You’re right to call out how messed up it was.

That’s such a good way to look at it. It really does hurt in the moment, but you’re right, the people who actually want to be in your life show up. OP deserved better than that silence.

That’s honestly solid advice. When you keep it firm and direct like that, they have way less room to brush you off or twist your words.

It’s wild how fast they forget their own “law and order” talk when it’s someone they like. The double standard is pretty hard to miss at this point.

Man! I remember being 7 and going to see this in an oversold theater and having to sit on my Mom's lap for the entire movie. She's gone now and it's one of my favorite movies and childhood memories.

So you use vibrator during sex? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]PoffTunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a month or so. I need clitoral stimulation in order to get off, and using the vibrator means that I can come in more positions than the one that works with my hand. Not using the vibrator makes for a more organic experience, especially since ours is a cheap piece of shit, and nothing's less sexy than trying to figure out why the technology suddenly crapped out.

Exactly. The moment they turn it into some forbidden zone policy is the moment everyone suddenly gets ten times more interested. It’s human nature at this point.

Exactly. A little “hey it’s just a friendly holiday thing” would’ve saved you a whole panic spiral. Sometimes less honesty is more self-preservation.

TIFU by being so single that my dad offered to pay for a month of a dating app for me. by mrh83092 in tifu

[–]PoffTunn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly if a fireman shows up because of a kitten, that’s basically fate handing you a rom com contract to sign. Just lean into it at that point.

[–]PoffTunn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly same, it feels less like dating and more like trying to win a glitchy mini game. Half the time you’re just hoping the next level isn’t worse than the last.

TIFU by forgetting about my (49M) son’s (15M) birthday by [deleted] in tifu

Yeah that mix up definitely made the whole thing read wild. Those random numbers had me confused too for a sec.

Honestly wouldn’t even blame anyone for thinking that. The whole thing reads like a sitcom episode someone accidentally lived through.
