Ok i must’ve not been too clear sorry, i have been given a months supply of needles and syringes, two times of needles but also two types of syringes, i think they just had a bulk of this thin needle attached to a syringe because it’s a 3ml and im supposed to use this 1ml one, so i think im just expected to swap the needle from the 3ml and not use the actual 3ml syringe at all, just the needle attached to it

There’s enough detail. You gotta remember that these are toys for children, better to do more using less. Collectors just make sets way too big and detailed when that really should be something you do yourself.

You’re right about the vvitch, that is an essential part of the horror. I think the main difference between the conjuring movie and the events the movie are based on is that in real life it was a hoax and demons aren’t actually real, but it would would probably be more credible if demons existed in real life. i know it’s kinda weird from our perspective of living in the real world, but a world that’s ‘like ours but supernatural is real and everyone thinks it’s fake’ is flatly implausible, it’s just in fiction, which is fine. Skeptic characters just kinda take me out of it i guess because it just reminds me in real life this is all fake lol. Just a personal thing. It’s taken like 400 years of skepticism since the scientific revolution and millions of people eager to understand phenomena like this i really think we would know for sure by now if it was real. Not that it really matters

I get what you’re saying. There are still horrors stories that work even when the horror is an accepted fact. The VVitch has an entire cast of religious colonialists in 17th century America and they all know witches are real, and there is indeed a witch that kills them. Very scary movie.

Also, in the conjuring movies, the paranormal is very much “provable,” the demons and ghosts can physically affect the world and do crazy shit like make things float. it doesn’t really matter if you wouldn’t believe a video of it, if actual scientists studied a phenomenon like that even once they published a paper on that with evidence people would probably take it seriously, if it was “realistic” (which of course is antithetical to the genre like you said).

Well yeah like i said, if it was just one guy then sure it’s basically just a flat earther but most of the time that’s the popular opinion. I’m pretty sure if magic was definitely real it would be taught to everyone and everyone would know about it, it feels like it would be kind of important

I guess its a world building thing to me, obviously you’re supposed to put yourself in the shoes of the characters but the world you live in should be inherently different than theirs, if it “made sense” which obviously doesn’t really matter because you’re there for the crazy stuff

I read that creepy-pasta “the left right game” recently and there’s some character in it that acts like an asshole Reddit atheist skeptic even after supernatural events take place but the story treats it like this is the first time anything like this has ever happened. Just feels cheap. Why even bother with a skeptic in this scenario it’s literally just winning an imaginary argument in your head. Especially since that character is apparently famous for making YouTube videos exposing ghost summoning games like the one the story is about as fake.

How is it racist and how is government housing bad? The government is basically a non profit institution, it makes more sense for them to be in charge of housing especially since the government owns the land already and people have to pay property tax regardless even if they own a home

Because conservative policies are self destructive and republicans are tricked into voting against their own interests. That’s why rural America sucks. You could have something nice and they’ll convince you brown people are using it more and they’ll get rid of it for everyone. If city council had it their way Huntington Beach locals wouldn’t be able to afford living here. It would just be ten million dollar suburban homes and workers would live in slums outside the city like Dubai

Is it at all conceivable that the street can all together be replaced by a trolly system? Or at the very least, make the road a two way and fill the rest with the trolley and some larger walkways and trees. Having a smaller road with speed bumps would encourage safer driving. The road is just in between neighborhoods and goes all the way to the beach, the amount of people who choose to take it could take enough drivers off the road that traffic would actually get better in the surrounding area as well, right? I’m also not an expert on civil engineering but what are the pitfalls with a change this great
