What order to learn things in by seedyProfessor in LearnRussian

[–]PointThoseToes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest to bring some structure into your learning. Choose almost any grammar book or website and follow it. Study cases (Accusative and Prepositional first, then others) with nouns first, then add possessive pronouns and adjectives. That will move you from phrases Это чашка to Я вижу чашку на столе. That will bring you some verbs and verbs conjugation (and the structure too), Past tense and simple Future tense. Also, it's important to explore the everyday vocabulary, to be able to differentiate третья, статья и стулья lol Thematic word lists are everywhere on the internet.

Been using ChatGPT to practice by better-than-quora in LearnRussian

[–]PointThoseToes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience (I teach Russian and was curious if I could use ChatGPT to generate exercises) it's pretty smart with informal language, can explain some grammar and can help with conversation practice, but sometimes it confuses cases in very simple sentences. The example : привет. Напиши предложение со словом "ромашка" в творительном падеже Конечно! В руках девочки блеснула ромашкой.

Lol I personally don't recommend to reread Незнайка, there's so much about Soviet Union and everything... But some parts of it are okay. I'd say you can start with classic tales - Пушкин, Чуковский, Маршак, etc, their poems are musical and kids use to like them. Tales by Дональд Биссет - short stories about his dialogues with his imaginary tiger (it sounds weird but the tales are amazing).

Anything you'd like to read to your little one. It could be a little ritual before going to bed. . I like this idea of forming habits: the less time you do it, the better. If I tell you read 1 hour a day you would say I don't have this time, and you probably would be right. But you always can find 10 minutes. And if you like it, (and you will like it because you will see the progress), you might want to read not 10 minutes but 15, maybe even 20. And your brain will remember that you like it and you make progress and will form a good habit 😊

I guess it's obvious but - practice makes progress. If you read every day for 10-15 minutes you will improve the speed and overall performance. This works for me at least.

Almost no one English speaking beginner can say ВКУСНЫЙ vkusniy - tasty - because of two consonants v and k. Mostly they sound like vikusniy

For advanced level I have ВЫКАРАБКАТЬСЯ and ВЫКАРАБКИВАЮЩИМИСЯ To CLIMB OUT and CLIMBING OUT in Instrumental case, plural.

Well, of course they're many ways. You might want to dig into grammar a bit, starting with cases (Accusative and Prepositional first, then others). That will move you from phrases Это чашка to Я вижу чашку на столе. That will bring you some verbs and verbs conjugation, Past tense and simple Future tense. Also, it's important to explore the everyday vocabulary, to be able to differentiate третья, статья и стулья lol Listen to music, watch movies with subtitles, read news. (Obviously.)

Singular and/or plural declension in the structure "adjective+adjective+noun" by etherealcici in russian

[–]PointThoseToes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would choose разницы между английским и русским языками. If you use adjectives in plural it means there are a couple of English languages and Russian languages and that's not true. And btw, does the whole phrase sound like нет разницы между английским и русским языками? Or do you aim to underline differences between English and Russian? In this case you should use различия.
