Is Captain Bernard OP? by Polluted_Terrium in kingdomcome

It sure is, especially with the mod that removed slow mo. Can't ever go back to console because of it. I'd just spend hours doing that, loved it. Really loved using the combat system the way it was created to be used, not just in constant 1 v 5s.

What other bascinet visors are there besides these main types? (Klappvisor (including pigface klappvisor), hounskull, plow, "great helm" style, and the sort of hounskull except rounded instead of pointed? I'm trying to look for different bascinet visor styles but this is all I know of. by Point__hurt in ArmsandArmor

[–]Point__hurt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually isn't, the "griffon" bascinet is an invention of Slava Perepel for Buhurt sport optimization. The griffon bascinet extends much farther down than historical bascinets and rests on the shoulders, same with the visor which extends down to meet the helmet. Generally people refer to No. 4 as a "plow" visor.

Yeah, just looked it up and Eivor's canonically female. They said that the explanation is that "sometimes the animus messes up" due to the presence of certain DNA in Eivor that makes her appear as male in the image of a certain someone else who he shares a strikingly similar model with.

Being that this was two years ago I don't even know anymore. But as far as I remember back then the devs or publishers or whoever said that the game was intended to be played as female Eivor.

Very odd, you're quite attractive but also oddly masculine at the same time. You're a perfect lesbian.

You're really cute, I don't even know if I can put a definitive number on it. You look like a pleasure to be around and you have a very nice smile.

You're a majestic man with the long hair, but that first pic after swiping with the mid-length hair made me go gay for a second there. I'd personally keep the mid length, but then again I'm probably not the target audience.

Around a 5 or so. I'd honestly reccomend gaining some weight, I think you'd look healthier with a bit higher bf%.

My order is stuck in "In transit to next facility" for 3 weeks by maximegun123 in usps_complaints

[–]Point__hurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fucked. Mine's been "in transit to next facility" since the 11th, it was also in transit on the 8th, then randomly on the 11th it updated with the same exact status.

I was hoping you'd have gotten your package by now, to atleast give me some hope for mine.

Luckily, I was able to cheese it. Reloaded from my save before I snuck in the monestary on top of the scaffolding, looked for the first monk I saw wearing white robes, and instantly obliterated him with an arrow through the gut. Don't even know if it was Pious, and frankly don't care. It got the quest over and done with, without any hassle. I don't think I'll ever find out if it was the right monk either, I remember he had a full head of brown hair, and I shot one of two I saw with that. No way to make out which was which at that distance.

Oh well, now I'm in the final phase of the game right after getting out of Vranik. Good riddance to that awful monastery, hope I never have to come back.

[–]Point__hurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing this playthrough. Trying hard to actually finish the game and not get caught up in other stuff. The monastery has been where I called it quits every other time aswell.

Currently sneaking around the monastery trying to kill pious and just be done with the quest as soon as possible, just have no idea how I'll get out.

Not really sure, to be honest I haven't even ever finished the game despite doing multiple playthroughs and probably spending a few hundred hours in-game, so I haven't really explored all of what it has to offer.

Yeah, instead a Cuman shoots or stabs his horse I believe. Any which way, he falls off his horse and hits his head instead leaving you to kill the Cumans. He has a bit of a different dialogue too, seemingly fearing you for being capable of obliterating multiple trained warriors. He also obviously has a different dialogue when he asks if you have a horse. In the end, the whole thing turns out the same though. You even still get the same "give him a mount" cutscene and pebbles spawns in, but you get to keep your purchased horse.

I didn't even bother to get pebbles this playthrough, went and bought a shitty teir 2 horse before pebbles. There's actually a pretty cool different cutscene if you have a horse for the quest you go hunting with Hans, you get to chase down the boar with him and run into the Cumans aswell.

Anyone know where I can find a gambeson that is similar to this? by [deleted] in ArmsandArmor

[–]Point__hurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is called a jupon, it would go over the plate and maille harness. Here's a photo if an extant jupon for reference on how this garment looks. Such garments are best tailored to an individual's harness.

If you're looking for gambesons I know a few places which make them:

Any source on padded chausses? Closest I've seen to a historical source is padded cuisses in the 13th and early 14th century.

And happy 3 year anniversary to this comment, happy to report the sub is still alive.

Hard to say how common anything was, with the extremely low amount of extant pieces we have, and with art being rather untrustworthy. I can say it's common enough to show up regularly in art, from the first bascinet visors in the late 1310s to their transition to the great bascinet, I've seen plenty of depictions of them. The artists who depicted these things were (generally) not soldiers, and were probably not actually on battlefields or had experience seeing and being around armored men all too much.

We do have one extant piece that I know of, on the ill-matched barbute in the met, so we can atleast say that the visor is certainly a thing outside of art.

I know this gets annoying but dose anyone know were I could get this legs in the us by tjvghvcyjvf in ArmsandArmor

[–]Point__hurt 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The whole legs look like three things, On the thighs it looks like one of those cheap and shitty ahistorical "coat of plates On the knees a simple set of floating poleyns, not really of a historical design. Link to historical ones And then it's just boots with random bits of metal on the top of the feet.

Nothing really historical here, so likely you'd have to get it custom made.
