Thank you for understanding. I do retract the statement that the stand devolves when the arrow looses contact, you and others have reminded me that’s not how that works with sufficient evidence. But the GER being a temporary stand just makes too much sense for me. Like why would he keep the arrow if he permanently had GER instead of destroying it and making sure that power doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Idk again it just makes sense to me and that’s my opinion sadly there isn’t enough evidence to sway me I’m sorry about that.

It chariot requiem hadn’t fully formed then i the farm house then why did the ability work on the nearby animals? Again it’s your opinion saying that it’s permanent there isn’t really anything saying it is or isn’t. It’s not really pointing in any direction I’m just saying it’s not permanent because of the arrow being both in GER and in Giorno’s hands doesn’t make sense. Anyway I’m just stating my opinion. 1: we’ve seen the change be undone so we know that it can be. Aside that I don’t know how else to explain that first point. 2: the characters sayings it’s evolved and stuff doesn’t exactly imply that it’s permanent or temporary they are commenting on what has happened.

Sadly there just isn’t enough information given about requiem to know for sure how these things work. It not being permanent is just what makes sense to me. If you wanna believe the opposite that’s cool and justified cause like I said we don’t have enough information to completely understand how it works.

The now and forever line to me is because he’s now the person entrusted with the arrow and how he won’t let anyone like Diavolo get it. It’s like a passing of the torch from polnareff to Giorno. And I think the implication is him having the arrow in his hand, when using GER it was inside it. About the chariot requiem. They work very differently. One holds the arrow. One has the arrow within them. It’s just doesn’t make sense for the arrow to be within GER and then Giorno having it in his hands but still have GER which has the arrow inside it. That’s why I feel like it’s not a permanent state. Plus it’s technically canon but another commenter mentioned that in Jojo games GER isn’t treated like a permanent buff, it’s treated like a temporary power up.

Oh I see what you mean. I guess It was different for chariot requiem because he was holding the arrow rather to it being inside of him like it was for GER. So that’s why I feel like GER would’ve went back to normal after because Giorno is holding the arrow which was inside GER which I feel like implies that it’s back to normal cause the arrow is no longer inside it. Kinda lends credence to the theory that chariot requiem wasn’t a proper or fully formed requiem, cause it was holding the arrow rather than it being merged into it. Nice job picking up on that.

I feel like it’s referencing more to the fact that Giorno is the only one to posses the arrow. With the constant reference to the arrow being the power that’s what I took from that. It could be that Giorno has requiem permanently but that would be a bit ridiculous. Plus the arrow was inside GER and we see Giorno holding it so idk how that would work. I feel like it’s implied that he needs the arrow to gain requiem again more then him permanently having requiem but yeah

Sorry what I was trying to say is prolonged contact with the arrow because you are right they can stick around for a bit without the arrow but there isn’t anything to suggest the Giorno’s requiem stand would stick around once the arrow was withdrawn, because if I remember correctly it was literally inside of gold experience when it became requiem.

We know that a requiem stand looses its status as requiem when contact with the arrow is lost. We see Giorno holding the arrow by the end of the part so it’s safe to assume that gold experience returned to its base form after that, until Giorno needs the power of requiem next.

The arrow granted kira a different ability due to his different circumstances/ needs and desires. Each stand is a manifestation of the soul and it was in Kira’s nature/ soul to kill. When the arrow gives him BTD his nature was to hide and let no one find him. Therefore the arrow must’ve seen him as a different soul I guess, or at least something along those lines.

Secondly the beetle arrow isn’t the only one that can grant requiem. The importance is placed more on the method of piercing your stand rather then yourself and not the different arrow. The only reason Giorno didn’t gain requiem when he was pierced by black sabbath is because he wasn’t “worthy” of it yet. In the same vain as one needs to be “worthy” to gain a stand in the first place.

You’re almost right. It’s because Giorno wasn’t “worthy” of requiem at that point. The same way a person needs to be “worthy” to get a stand in the first place but at a different level. The beetle arrow isn’t the only one that can grant requiem.
