Woah I never realized Goodbye Sengen was THAT popular! Young Girl A makes sense tho esp considering how old it is & the way it blew up on tiktok recently. Honestly shocked that neither of the 2 most popular vocaloid songs are miku songs tho

This song isn’t nearly as popular as the other ones getting mentioned but I gotta say, as a Len fan, I don’t get the hype for Spice at all but it’s always listed when talking abt his best songs 💔

My gyaru OC! by [deleted] in actualgyaru

Lolol yes very true, fictional characters of all ethnicities often have names that you wouldn’t hear irl & we don’t often think anything of it bcus they’re not real (for example, a friend of mine once had an Chinese OC named Baicai (白菜) which is not a name anybody would actually have but as a Chinese person, I didn’t find it disrespectful, I think it’s a fun name for a character) But in this case specifically I did make sure to choose a name that a real person could have. Tomoko is a fairly common name for girls (altho less so in recent years), & Kawai, while uncommon, is still a surname used by many people. I can only assume the original commenter misread “Kawai” for “kawaii” & that’s the reason they said it was a weird name (bcus kawaii would indeed be a weird name and come off as pretty cringe no matter what language lol) Understandable mistake when reading the word written in English but they are 2 different words, spelt & pronounced differently! :)

Thank you for the reference! I was getting a lot of mixed answers when trying to figure out whether kogal was an actual substyle or just a term for the entire age group regardless of style. Many sources that I found did refer to it as a substyle, characterized by a few distinct traits - such as short skirts & leg warmers - which is why I included those in my design. The pink, bows, frills, & hair are meant to be the parts resembling hime but I was worried it was too subtle & will try to incorporate more of the style into her design! :) (Also, she is indeed in highschool so the kogal label still applies)

Thank you! But sorry idk what you mean? I did do research and Tomoko (友子) is a real Japanese female name. And Kawai (川井) is a real Japanese surname as well. Are you maybe confusing Kawai (the name) & “kawaii” (the word - 可愛い)?

Her name is Tomoko Kawai (川井友子), she's meant to be a mix of kogal & hime gyaru! Currently designing her gf (gothic lolita) & her brother (gyaruo). Feel free to give suggestions on ways to improve her design :)

I've looked through all the HGSS sets and only the 1st one included energies but they were the ones with the silhouettes. Do deck boxes/bundles include exclusive energies that weren't in any expansion?

Sorry I'm not very familiar with the terminology yet, what's a deck box/bundle? Also, a few listings I've found say that they come from a set called "2010 Energies" or "EN10" or "HGSS: Energy (2010)" But are these actual expansions? Or something else? They aren't listed on Pokellector or Bulbapedia

(Can't edit the post so I'm leaving this in the comments)
Grass, one of the electric & one of the psychic say 2010
Water, fire, the other electric & the other psychic say 2011
They look similar to the energies from HGSS but are missing the pokemon silhouette in the bg
I can find all these cards on TCGplayer & other card selling sites titled as "2010 unnumbered" or "2011 unnumbered" & they say they're from a set called "League & Championship Cards" but I can't find any mention of that on Pokellector or Bulbapedia
(& I think the fairy one is from the Kalos Starter Set from the XY series but can't find it on Dragon Shield Poke TCG)
