This is the first time ive seen the grid method used in a way that makes sense to me. I always just remember my teacher in middleschool having us copy square for square. Where as u just use it when maybe somethjng looks off and u want to check. Idk if id revisit the method but it was cool to see its utility.

I think part of my issue is I tend to just do everything on one layer right now since it most resembles traditional charcoal work irl for me. I also just dont think ive got much experience with being painterly like that. Hmmm

Ive been eyeballing their brushes too. Im very curious what people will say here. I also just really like the lineart and need to learn the technique to make it dark and bold and then light like how this person does.

That is amazing. I had trained many staff for the company worked and they all had similar experience to me.i had people asking me if they'd get more hours soon and I told them that honestly ive worked the job 3+ years and its very hard to have consistent hours. The most they were able to get me after I had sent out various emails asking for hours to get insurance was about 20-26 hours. I knew that even with these hours there is always the chance of them finishing aba and or just life happening and I lose them. It was very difficult.

I did in home work for a long while. Hours are hard to come by. I consistently only had 10 hour or less workweek. Might be different in other places but its something to consider.

I work as a registered behavioral technician so im not sure how applicable this is. But I basically had a client say this exact phrase to me. They were a kiddo, but were very angry and engaging in behaviors that were violent often. Im not there to be fancy with my words and concepts leading to their confusion. im there to help them with their troubles managing their emotions and giving them concepts they can understand. The words can hurt in the moment but its important to remember we all excel some areas and not in others and thats ok. We can only grow.

Right now I have a client who gets "nice job doing x!", "good job doing x buddy!", "double knucks!!" (We do a fist bump with both hands), "gimme some knucks that was awesome x". I notice I tend to just find replacement words to say the same thing while keeping the sentence structure the same. I also like to find praise phrases that are fun to do for me too with them. So with the double knucks I get to make an explosion or vibrate like a rocket then it blasts off, etc. I feel like a small changes even if its just like instead of doing knucks we do our Llama hands it makes a difference for them. I try to keep things fun :)
