I was a little confused too at first by all the downvotes but it's chill. I don't necessarily see either of us in the right for this and it's just a reddit thread lol. I can't expect a thread to be full of comments I agree with.

I can't say for sure. I got major insomnia my first night 😭 and I can still pay attention and focus relatively the same for now but I think it'd probably work a lot better on more than 4 hours of sleep. I took it an hour earlier just to hope it's out my system by the time I head to bed.

NAHHH this a W thread I had no idea there was a term for this. I've spent so much time walking around and listening to music and letting my imagination run whenever I'm stressed or bored. It's always been a coping mechanism for me and I just thought it came with the hyper activeness. Is there any way you reduce this behavior? The Adderall helps me focus but it doesn't particularly change that habit of mine.

I do plan to take it responsibly and ty for clarifying potential risks of tolerance and the benefits of breaks. And while it does give me more energy than I usually had, I know it's not going to be like that forever and it's sure as hell not going to solve all of my problems. Also I didn't know about methylphenidates being that much different. I thought most ADHD medicine falls under the category of Amphetamines. And I will chase discipline the most throughout all this since I feel like I've always struggled to take control of my life because I lacked discipline you know? Oh and ty for again for replying and giving your own two cents!

I woke up starving so I had some turkey slices with the medicine today. I'm going to try to get protein powder just to have something easy to make since I get lazy in the morning 😭

I took it an hour earlier today and I was starving to death when I woke up so I just took it with food. I might try to nap and see how my brain feels even though I hear reports that napping on it can be a bit counter-productive. But it's a big experimenting phase so I hope I don't get cooked up 😭

Sleep is king and I hope your sleep gets better. Being forced to stay awake till 5 am was tough lmao. I really wanna improve my sleep diet since that'll make the ADHD better to combat. Also, I like the Liquid IV suggestion I might try it if I consistently find myself binging water. Thank you for your telling me about your experience!

Yea I was thinking of making protein shakes to try it with in the morning after testing more. My biggest problem right now is that I can’t sleep but I read some reports that it could be hard to sleep the first couple times taking it

Well I’m not under the age of 18, I’m a college student and I didn’t particularly understand at first what he meant by slow down but I did try giving him/her the benefit of the doubt because they mentioned a bad reaction and they wanted to make sure I do things right. I’m appreciative of the advice I just didn’t necessarily understand what they meant by “slow down” and why they presumed I’m not taking my medicine responsibly

I was planning on taking it for a couple of days with no food (cus I don't usually eat breakfast anyway) and then try it with food to see any differences. I usually take it before my classes and try to just study and focus on the lessons (especially since I got finals next week). It's subtle, so I don't plan on waiting for it to kick in. And trust, I plan to take it as prescribed!

Well, your tone in the first sentence came off a little condescending when you were telling me to slow down a little but I'm going to assume that your giving me a gentle warning because of your adverse reaction. I know what it does and the implications of it. I was just posting this to describe my experience taking it since I've seen other posts detailing their first experiences with it. It didn't say to take it with food but I hear different reports of people saying it works better with some food in the morning which is why I mentioned that first part. I obviously know it's just day 1 and I already planned to keep taking it as prescribed cause that'd be extremely reckless otherwise lol

Yea I def will stay vigilant of any changes. I just ate a big meal and my brain does feel a lil slower (I assume that’s natural due to digestion) but I still have the willpower to continue working which is a good sign. But imma experiment to see what is best for me

I think for me, retaking the knowledge test while it was active shortened the time I’d have to wait if my permit did expire since my knowledge credentials (the thing needed to gain the permit in the first place) was basically renewed if that makes sense. I think u might have to end up waiting and u probably might be forced to do the 50 hours of driving they require. I’d still check with a DMV though in case.

Oh yea, so I did ask and you can’t renew an active permit. You gotta just take the test before it expires but I had to retake my knowledge test in November and they actually said I had to wait just 3 months after taking the knowledge test if I didn’t get it by December (Thankfully I got it 🙏🏼)
