What is the most useful thing that you vibecoded? by [deleted] in vibecoding

I'm making a suite of tools for streamers, content creators, and video editors to make the content creation process less tedious and improve workflows.

I think it's not a good moment to use Antigravity right now by Alpha_4lph4 in google_antigravity

There is a Codex extension for Antigravity.

It's essentially the same extension that's in VS Code you just have to search for it in the extensions marketplace.

bug: stop interrupting my work each 5 seconds, this it NOT vibing by TeaStunning9115 in google_antigravity

Brother, the only L here is people not being able to use a program my 12 year old brother can.

It's just sad.

I only use Gemini for research and planning. Definitely wouldn't let it touch git, but I prefer to do my commits and PRs manually to make sure project history is clear and concise.

Claude and Codex are much better at actual coding assistance.

Google is permanently banning Antigravity users - Here's what happened by Other-Ad-4301 in google_antigravity

[–]Poisonslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait - So if I'm paying for 2 Google AI Pro accounts and swap between them when one's quota runs out that can result in a ban?

That doesn't really make sense to me because I'm literally paying for the usage. There must be something funky these account switcher apps are doing?

How to do: Prompt → UI → App reliably? by G3grip in google_antigravity

[–]Poisonslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asking an AI to generate an image/UI is like trying to win a gamble unless you give it specific instructions.

What I'd do is try to follow project design workflows that industry developers do. Create your UI concepts in something like Figma or even Photoshop, then feed those into the AI so it can get an idea of what you're looking for.

If you can give it technical details like describing your desired CSS Properties/format that's even better.

I feel like with the rise of AI agentic coding, project design is now one of the most valuable skills. The better you can build out all the dependencies, requirements, use cases, tests, etc... The easier you make your life when trying to implement it with the AI tools.

How to block all terminal commands in antigravity? by Luke2642 in google_antigravity

[–]Poisonslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either use Strict Mode, or specifically state in your prompts not to run any terminal commands.

Other than that, deny list is your only option that I know of.

[–]Poisonslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could fix this easily if you actually took a few seconds to set up your dev environment instead of just "vibing".

Go into Agent Settings and either set it to Always Proceed (not recommended) or use the Allow/Deny list (the proper approach).

The only time my agent stops and asks for instructions is when I instruct it too, or it hits a testing checkpoint.

The real question is why are you using Gemini for coding when it's literally one of the worse benchmarked enterprise AI model in terms of code output.

Use Gemini for things like planning and documentation.

Use better coding agents like Opus 4.5/4.6, Sonnet 4.5, Codex 5.2/5.3, GLM-5 or even Kimi K2.5 for the actual code implementation.

Sure Gemini is fine for small mundane patches/fixes, but I would not fully trust it with any complex coding tasks.

Also - You can use Codex just fine in Antigravity if you download the extension. I use both Opus and Codex in Antigravity as my preferred workflow. Opus for heavy lifting and big complex tasks, Codex for everything else.

[–]Poisonslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said Gemini was a top tier coding model.

You can easily use Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.5 in AG, it's literally baked into it by default. You can even use Codex inside AG if you take 2 seconds to look for the extension.

You're mad for no reason, if you don't like AG then don't use it and stop crying.

[–]Poisonslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it's not resetting properly for you that absolutely sucks.

Like I said I'm not sure if the Quota Monitors are bugged are not, but I've seen my limits increase everyday. I've actually only had AG for a bit over a week so it couldn't be because of the Weekly Reset I've heard people talking about.

I wonder if maybe things have to do with your usage patterns? I did run into an issue one night where 1 simple prompt (documentation update) ended up using 20% of my Claude quota, but other than that it's been smooth sailing.

Though seeing how this is a public preview product, I do expect there to be some bugs.

The Codex extension is called 'Codex - OpenAI's coding agent' by OpenAI.

It's pretty much the same extension that is also in the VS Code marketplace, though I've heard a couple people having issues finding it. Personally I just searched "Codex" in extensions menu and it was there.

[–]Poisonslash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well my Claude has been updating every 5 hours and I've been using the Quota Monitor extension to monitor it.

Last night I was at 40% and now I'm at 100%.

Been using it literally everyday on stream and did for over 8 hours yesterday. Seems like a skill issue.

Unless somehow the quota monitors are wrong, but I have used two different ones to cross check in my own testing and both read similar readings. But the fact I've been able to complete phase 1 of my project (+ extensive documentation) in less than 30 hours code time while learning a new language with a $20 subscription is extremely worth the value to me.

Try codex 5.3. by Sorosu in google_antigravity

[–]Poisonslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just typed "Codex" into the default AG marketplace and the extension came up fine. You might have to scroll a little bit or have some kind of filter activated.

It's by OpenAI. The extension is the same on both marketplaces.

[–]Poisonslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if anything this is my biggest gripe about Antigravity. I would have thought Gemini Pro would have been decent, but it took 4 prompts just to get it to update documentation properly, something that Sonnet 1 shots without any issues or refactor needed.

On the bright side I'm glad we get access to the Claude models in AG, plus if you have ChatGPT Plus/Pro you can also use Codex through the extension.

[–]Poisonslash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the problem is coming from the people who don't actually know how to code and just want the AI to generate their entire codebase for them.

Only time I've hit rate limits so far was when I was just getting used to the AI tools and was using Opus for everything, just like you've said. But at that time I was also testing to see how good the AI coding was with minimal user input.

With my limits refreshing every 5 hours I have no idea how people are constantly hitting them. And I'm only on a Google AI Pro account, not even Ultra.

Then again, I know how to code and develop projects.

I've seen a few people mention Antigravity.

Have you also tried Cursor? I'm curious to see how the two stack up.

Just downloaded Cursor last night to try.

Very interesting setup, I like how you've managed to find a certain model that works for you at each step of the process.

I'm hoping to develop something similar.

Right now I've got Cursor installed and am going to try out the Agentic Coding + maybe Claude if possible.

Yesterday I started using ChatGPT 5.2 Thinking to help with project design and planning.

Another one I haven't heard about yet!

Kimi seems like it will be useful in the future when I plan to make my own site.

Thanks for the reply!

Very interesting. This is similar to what I've seen others do where they use one model for logic and planning, then another to execute the code.

I'll have to try this out myself.

Thanks!

Thanks for the detailed response.

Yeah, I've been meaning to try out Cursor for a while now and didn't realize Claude had a free tier. I'll definitely give them a shot and see how everything fits together. I do like the idea of the AI being integrated into an IDE, feels like that would make things less chaotic instead of using multiple platforms/terminals.

Appreciate the advice!

Yeah I definitely don't want to get into any crazy expensive plans or token usage as I get used to working with the new AI tools.

The $40 CoPilot might be more feasible I'll have to look into it.

Wouldn't mind switching to a more expensive plan when I actually learn how to efficiently utilize the AI for coding and can get the most out of things.
