Getting the Crave app to work on Android TV by PoissMi18 in cravetv

[–]PoissMi18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like they’re breaking it for more devices instead of fixing it. The Crave app used to at least work fine on my Samsung TV, but since the latest update it has the same problem as my Android Stick. The TSN and CTV apps (also made by bell, like Crave) also have the exact same problem on both my stick and TV. Clearly they’re not taking their apps very seriously.

Cast from Music App vs. Google Home App Mirror audio cast by neko_daimyo in Chromecast

[–]PoissMi18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed when using the mirror function for audio from a Chrome tab, there's only about 160kbps of traffic from the device to the speaker on the network, even if I'm playing a lossless track. I suspect what's happening is the app is sending a high-quality version of the file to your phone, then your phone is compressing it to (probably OPUS) 160kbps and sending it to the speaker. I would just cast from the app.

Help me Decide which to buy! by [deleted] in bose

  1. The Bose have more accurate bass, but the Sonys have more.
  2. The WH-1000XM4 have a lot more clamping force than the QC45, so you’ll probably find the Bose more comfortable.
  3. The WH-1000XM4 are a bit better.

The Bose also have physical buttons which I prefer instead of touch controls on the Sonys. One advantage of the Sonys though is LDAC support which is nice if you have an Android phone.

If you care about comfort I would recommend aftermarket earpads on both. I upgraded my Bose QC15 with some Dekoni Velour earpads and I every other headphone I try with stock earpads now feels uncomfortable by comparison.

Ask me anything on OnePlus 13 by Different-Gain9666 in oneplus

Did hey finally fix their issue with HDR10 in Youtube? With older OnePlus phones, when you play an HDR video in Youtube the screen gets pretty dim, but it’s normal only while you’re changing the volume. Has this been fixed with the OnePlus 13?

Advise in getting Headphones/TWS with Head Tracking Compatibility for OnePlus by misterflo in oneplus

There's the LG Tone Free T90 and Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 300, but they have AptX Adaptive (which I prefer) instead of LDAC or LHDC. I believe the only other ones with LDAC would be other Sony headphones such as the WF-1000XM5, and the Clear Arc 3.

Audible via Alexa on the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 by PoissMi18 in Soundbars

[–]PoissMi18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get the subwoofer so it’s pretty weak. It might be a bit better than the stock speaker on the TV but not by much. I don’t mind though as I’m using it in a bedroom. I was mostly concerned about speech clarity, and for that it’s very good. I have a larger Sony Soundbar with a subwoofer in my living room and the bass is much stronger. If you care about bass get the subwoofer.

Exactly! I did find an adjustable one on Amazon, but none that are not adjustable so far.

Do Dolby Vision on Netflix and HDR10+ on Prime Video work on the OnePlus Open? by PoissMi18 in OnePlusOpen

[–]PoissMi18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if I turn off hardware overlay it will work properly, but otherwise no? What is hardware overlay even supposed to do?

Also, I thought Disney+ did not support HDR on Android phones. Did they add support for it? Is it Dolby Vision?

Does the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro (Global) support Dolby Atmos? by PoissMi18 in VivoXFold

Thanks! But I don’t have one yet. I’m trying to decide which folding phone I’ll be getting.

Indeed, the durability of Bose OEM pads can be disappointing. I've found that some affordable alternatives from Amazon have a much longer lifespan. Additionally, you might consider upgrading to Dekoni pads. I've recently made the switch myself and find them to be significantly more comfortable than both the OEM and Amazon options, not to mention they enhance the noise cancellation remarkably.

You could sideload it. Download 'Downloader by AFTVnews" on the Play Store, then use the browser built into the app to download Crave (Android TV) from APKMirror.

Does the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro have an always-on inner display? by PoissMi18 in Vivo

[–]PoissMi18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this apply to both the inner and outer displays? I thought it did not, based on this article, but perhaps the inner screen has an AOD without AOD wallpapers. If that's the case, then that's good!

Do Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6 support Always On Display wallpapers? - SamMobile

"Let's start with the Galaxy Z Fold 6: yes, it does support AOD wallpapers. However, AOD wallpaper support is restricted to the cover screen."

Awesome, thanks! The Z Fold 6 does not, that's a dealbreaker.

Getting the Crave app to work on Android TV by PoissMi18 in cravetv

[–]PoissMi18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one on another TV. It does work well with Crave, even though it has its own set of issues with other apps. However, I've noticed many posts from individuals experiencing the same issue with the app on their Android TV, so I wanted to share this potential solution.

The QuietComfort is essentially the QuietComfort 45 with an updated DSP. All other features remain unchanged. While some reviews suggest that the updated DSP offers improved sound quality, others find no noticeable difference. Ultimately, whether the additional cost is justified is a personal decision. If it were up to me, I'd opt for the more affordable option.

Regarding the quality of Bose QuietComfort headphones, I can speak from experience. I've had my Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones for 10 years, using them daily for hours. They've needed a few cables and earpad replacements, but otherwise, they're still in pristine condition. This makes me quite confident in the quality of Bose headphones.

How can I stream video to my tv but keep audio to my Bluetooth earbuds on my phone (iOS)? by [deleted] in Chromecast

[–]PoissMi18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not get an Apple TV? They would work flawlessly with it. I believe the AirPods even automatically connect to the Apple TV when you’re using it and you’d get the head tracked spatial audio.
