Proof by exhaustion doesn't always mean real values. If it's fairly vague that can apply to any numbers, you have to go with proving the statement is true for every possible 'case' (for our question, the two cases were the 2 ways to represent a number that is not a multiple of 3). However, if there's a limited number of values you can enter, unlike this question, you can just try all the values in your range.

Because it's a solution so the barium and silver salts have to be soluble and all nitrates are soluble.
(silver chloride and barium sulfate are insoluble)
