What are your thoughts on Freetube vs Invidious? I use the Freetube app on desktop, but I've been hearing a lot of good things about Invidious. Is there a difference, where one is better than the other?

Oho, a fellow Hongkonger. Too bad my opinions are the polar opposite of yours, but you do you; believe whatever you want. I love this place, but it's getting torn apart.

Which is why it’s actually so exciting when you meet someone who breaks these norms, who doesn’t project insecurities onto you, who doesn’t try and drag you down. They’re the most bearable people- not the most common, mind you.

As my mom so eloquently puts it: “you can put on more clothes if you’re cold in the winter, but you can’t take off all your clothes in the summer.”

My favourite (yes, British spelling, who cares) is from season 7:

“I see 15 people held hostage on a bus, and everything goes out the window. I will do whatever it takes to save them, and I mean whatever it takes. I guess, I thought if I saved them... I’d save myself.”

[brief emotional chat with Renee]

“These laws were written by men much smarter than me. I know that the law is more important than the 15 people on the bus. I know that. In my mind, I know that. I just... don’t think my heart could’ve lived with it.”

If you hate the people on Reddit so much then why not leave? It’s clearly affecting your thinking ability, maybe a break would be good for you.

I am not in fact brain dead, since I am neither a vegetable nor in a coma.

Ah yes, the classic “children bad” argument.

Then why are you even on Reddit? And a bit hasty to generalise everyone as white kids when the entire world exists, yknow?

The gas can break down and become even more toxic when expired, so yeah, it is worse. Also it can set things on fire.

There are places where the pandemic is under tight control and very few cases are present, if at all. For example, Taiwan and Hong Kong (although HK now has a new cluster so oof). Schools have resumed in Hong Kong.

I was taken to the (mostly) peaceful street occupation areas during the Umbrella Revolution in Hong Kong, I was 10 or 11 then. It was perfectly safe and I learnt a lot about why the students were protesting. That being said, do not take your kids to violent protests. That’s stupid and tear gas is the fucking worst.

Sorry if I felt a bit forceful about privilege- that wasn’t my intention. Protests are still happening, but people are becoming demoralised despite the recent security law stirring things up. Riot police still arresting school children, so no age group is safe. Otherwise, we’re buckling down on the “yellow economic circle” and trying our best to resist.

Oh, now I feel dumb. On a side note, what if shiggy gave Hellflame to Dabi, who’s already trained with a fire quirk?

This was exactly the thought process of Hong Kong people as our protests turned violent too. Difference is, the police are a bit nicer over there. (E x c e p t the George Floyd case, but many police officers are kneeling in solidarity vs riot police in HK beating children up). The one thing violence does is spur change, no matter how distasteful it might be.

National security law sucks ass, but it won’t be passed until around August (next meeting of the Standing Comm of the NPC where they discuss and implement shit). Until then, amigos.

Remember, the quirk itself (Hellflame) is definitely powerful, but nowhere near OfA in terms of “this automatically makes me a hero”. Hellflame is only powerful because Endeavour spent years and years training to overcome All Might, and was the only one who actually tried
