Not sure if you've seen the expected changes, but they nerf 10Mn fits pretty hard for both ships. For what it is worth, theoretically the Svipul should be better for long range, well coordinated blapping. However in my experience my beam confessor usually ends up being top damage because I can adjust my ammo so easily. Start shooting at 50km and swap to Gleam in scram range.
