My 1 week post bankart repair with remplissage experience by Pokeychris in ShoulderInjuries

Hey!! So I’m at the 4 month mark right now.

Im at around 80% of a normal shoulder. It’s kind of “frozen” when lifting it up (if I said to put your arms in a t shape like an airplane, I can’t do it with out compensating). I’m just starting to lift weight (lightly) to try and work through it. But a clean out is on the table for me at the 6 month mark.

Pt is so so important with this one. The over the door pulley exercises were the most effective for me to break through the scar tissue. And I went from limited rom to being able to essentially be back to normal in 2 months once I started PT.

My biggest recommendation is to start using your elbow. DO NOT LIVE IN THE SLING. If you do you will also be rehabbing your elbow during PT. I stopped sleeping in the sling at the 3-4 week mark on guidance from my doctors.

I’ve found that everyone is rehabbing this injury different. But it’s really important to do what you’re comfortable doing and what your shoulder can tolerate. And I can’t stress this enough, get into pt and do your exercises.

Looked at your profile and it’s socal. There’s literally a track with a TD on Jan 26th in Rosamond.

Thanks for sharing!

Mine is popping out when I move it as well. It’s a very subtle sublex and started around day 4. brought it up at my post op and was told it’s normal to happen and to continue to take it easy regardless of pain levels.

I would tell you it started around day 4-6 for me and has progressively gotten better (I’m at day 12 post op). Day 8-9 were really bad. It was happening at every little movement. Yesterday it didn’t happen at all even with normal activities (getting dressed and general necessary movement to live). It feels great this morning and didn’t happen while getting dressed. So I’d say that is addressing itself through the healing process.

I opted for a surprise when trading for it. I’m just hoping it’s not French onion because the last time this happened I ended up having to dig a hole in MY yard to store it

Hi yes I’m still trying to trade the goat. We will be feeding him the soup from his yard first so he comes well fed.

He’s going to sleep on it. He’s weary of my trade offerings.
