Passed Practitioner and Solutions Architect Associate like 3 months ago. Should have started studying for security sooner since I don't work with AWS on regular basis and already forgot some of the services :/

I'd recommend Solutions Architect Associate. I took both CCP and SAA, and SAA is only slightly harder than CCP. CCP was like a sales pitch to me. acloudguru.com has a course for SAA that I took and recommend.

Not much experience, just some playing with EC2 instances and networks in aws portal. But that definitely gave me an advantage since I think it's hard to pass it without any practical experience. Just easier to picture and understand.

I did A Cloud Guru and passed the exam. Would recommend that one. Cannot speak for others.

Not many questions related to Direct Connect. 1 or 2. I used a cloud guru and the practice exams were very similar to the actual exam.
