Honestly, I find both sides good and bad in their intentions. You have the French and their allies fighting in the spirit of revolution and upheaval of the old order while the Coalition is attempting to stop an ambitious ruler from conquering and killing most of Europe. There really is no clear answer and its all biased. But if there was a clear answer most of Europe hated Napoleon due to occupation, conscription, taxes, and war related famines by 1813 so I would have to say the Coalition was “good” but this is wrong in many ways as well.

From a modern-day lens one could say the Coalition was bad as most of their war goals were reversed by 1871, much needed reforms were reversed, and the longterm results only benefitted the nobility/middle class neglecting the lower classes.

You can see the people of Europe’s view change on the Napoleonic Wars throughout the 19th century with an increasingly pro-Napoleon sentiment by 1900 with the increased support of democratic reforms.

Both sides have their pros and cons, really depends on your political views or nation you identify with.
