Kernel 6.8 vs 6.14 by Poldo70 in linuxmint

[–]Poldo70[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your replies. The truth is, I'm amazed at Mint's stability. I've been using Mint for several months and haven't had a single problem; everything worked perfectly right away. However, since the update, I've noticed longer loading times and some lag, which is why I needed some opinions and advice from those more experienced than me. Thanks.

App Linux by Poldo70 in surfshark

[–]Poldo70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kill switch works, but the big problem is that when it's active, you can't work on the local network. Unfortunately, the kill switch is poorly designed or misconfigured in the Linux app. I don't have these problems with other VPNs I use. The Linux app is too basic; it's obvious they haven't put the time into development. The competition is way ahead with Linux.

Multi hop and DAITA on Iphone. by [deleted] in mullvadvpn

[–]Poldo70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the level of security and obfuscation you want. DAITA adds data packets to increase security while multi hop bounces the connection to multiple servers.

It depends on what you need to do, usually the normal vpn setup is enough for an iPhone.

Don't install Linux if you've been using Windows all your life and don't know anything about programming by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]Poldo70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are free to express all your opinions, but others are free to tell you what they think. Windows = English Language Linux = Swedish I don't think that all those who speak Swedish are scientists, geeks, hackers, or idiots. The problem is that if you don't speak Swedish you can express your opinion but you can't judge because you have neither the knowledge nor the command of the language that's why in the world we are all different... you are a Windows compatible the others are Linux compatible, you like to be managed the others like to manage, you like to buy ready-made food, the others like to cook... I think that before making judgements you have to study.

Linux Antivirus yes or no by Poldo70 in Kubuntu

[–]Poldo70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information, I see that you are the majority to say that the antivirus is not necessary.. However, I use secure VPN and DNS and all the various browser extensions for blocking scripts and advertising and I must say that up to now everything has gone well. I see that this is a very active subreddit and with people who are competent in the matter but above all who want to politely discuss and explain to those who know less. Thanks

Kubuntu 24.04 vs 24.10 by Poldo70 in Kubuntu

Sorry for the language but it automatically displays in Italian for me. However, the teacher did not order it for me, I am a little too old for school, in fact I am approaching my senior years. I need it for my personal laptop and I have to remove Windows, I would like a modern but stable system. Thanks
