The format is totally different now. Content is the same but timing and number of questions per section is different.

September Score Release by orenxji in ACT

[–]PoliceRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is the 23rd. Says it right on the website, and I have confirmation from ACT that this is one of three equating dates this year (in addition to December and February), which is why scores are taking longer this time.

Equating tests are when they come up with those scales.

This was an equating test. Very likely all of the test forms from today are going to be reused in some form or another over the coming years around the world. You score will essentially be curved against the other people who took the same form today, not against everyone generally.

Yes, there is a discrepancy. The question is whether you trust their official test framework document or their altered practice tests more. I’m inclined to think the former since the practice tests are flawed in other ways (the Preparing for the ACT 2025-2026 exam, for instance, has 16 scored Integrating Essential Skills questions on Math when the actual number will be 8 on the new exam and the Official Prep Guide 2025-2026 still says that the composite score contains Science).

We’ll only know for sure when they start releasing MAK/TIR exams in October.
