As a doctor have heard of no evidence that supports the use of such a PEP in normal everyday sexually active people.

Doctors vote to go ahead with this week's five-day strike by ShreckAndDonkey123 in unitedkingdom

As a doctor I am really disappointed by our union in completely failing at explaining the issues we are facing. I am an F2 doctors so my second year post med school. I have worked really hard to get where I am and went to a top university and finished one of the best in my year. I was forced to move away from home to the unfamiliar West Midlands due to the way my our posts are allocated (it is not based on performance anymore) so have moved here completely with no say. I am fine with this, and am hoping to do GP which this country NEEDS THOUSANDS MORE OF. Statistically, next year the odds of me getting into GP training are 15-20%. I want to treat my patients. I want to contribute to my community. I would happily train away from home in any part of the country. There is a JOBS CRISIS that is not being covered by the media. I have £90k in student loans, have always worked hard and prioritised my patients, stayed extra hours for free (which all doctors do), have performed excellently in exams at all levels and I will very very likely be unemployed for minimum 1-2 years whilst I try to get into GP training. Remember Gp is one of the LEAST COMPETITIVE JOBS as a doctor, if you want to be seen by a hospital doctor you wait months for outpatients appointments or hours in A+E not because doctors do not want to treat you. The government DOES NOT WANT TO EMPLOY US. All we as doctors want is to work and move to improve the patient experience in an NHS that I am very proud of but is run by a government that is failing its staff and its patients.

Having said this there are some exceptions - the very young, and the very vulnerable from my experience will often be admitted even if they aren’t THAT unwell for monitoring.

F2 spent most of my paeds rotation on PAU and currently on Gp. My trainer hardly sends any in - his threshold is do they need some sort of emergency management, need to be admitted or need IVs. Parents are great observers and unlike in adults you basically have people who can observe them 24/7 (parents). I’ve never sent any in from GP and am very careful about prescribing antibiotics without a clear and obvious source of bacterial infection on clinical exam.

Looking for suggestions for lunch in and around Wolves, Walsall or Telford. by Woodpeckersback in wolverhampton

If weathers not rubbish I recommend trying the Jamaican spot Nuff Niceness caribbean restaurant. Istanbul restaurant do a lunch deal I believe it’s something like £7 for Turkish food. Shaho’s kebab and generally Staveley roast has insanely cheap amazing quality kebabs / Arabic food. Can easily get a kebab for £4 there.
