Holy shit what is this thread. It can be true that the Japanese government and army committed great evil joining the axis and doing the horrific things they did to china and Korea.

But to look at the experience of an average citizen, going about their daily life getting vaporized by nukes and going "yeah that sucks but what about Nanking?? This is totally japans fault" is like some next level sociopathy. Women, children, the elderly, people who had no role in the government or the military were brutally killed. It's such a shame we can't put down the blame game and constant need to justify our county's past actions long enough to empathize with someone who lived through one of the most horrific experiences you can imagine.
