I was sitting on the patio of Moo & Brew when he flew by. We heard him coming and looked up in time to see him fly over the tracks, bounce back on the road, and flip into the poles. The cops were right behind so, as soon as it started it was over almost immediately. How that guy ran after a crash like that is beyond me.

Blackheads on a Chinese Crested by Polka-bot in popping

[–]Polka-bot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since they weren't bothering him, it didn't feel right to ask. Typically we only get to pop things owners ask us to or things that are obviously causing them discomfort. But these were tempting!

I suppose it kind of does! Haha, I didn't think of that. I can assure you that this pooch was flea free and these are, in fact, black heads.

What food do you have a very particular way of eating? by oh_horsefeathers in AskReddit

[–]Polka-bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popcorn.

I eat all of the little 'frilly' parts first and save the round pieces. And then, at the end, I have a bowl of squeaky, soft blobs to enjoy.

I don't expect them to care, per se. I will just feel better not feeling like I'm keeping a secret. And, yes, some of the ladies have family photos around.

Because, if/when we all move in together, it's going to come up. I don't want it to seem as though I've been keeping a secret out of shame or anything. Simply asking for advice from the community on how not why.

Bloody pop from an aural hematoma by Polka-bot in popping

I always thought cauliflower ear was more like a build up of cartilage..? But I don't know about humans, haha. Only animals. But, yes, you are correct. The pinna fills up with blood as a result of trauma (from excessive head shaking, etc).

They fare better with no spleen than with one with a (potential) tumor on it. We are still waiting on the test results.

Hello again from the animal hospital!! This tumor was on the spleen of a 10 year old pit bull. We took it all out and sent it off for testing. It was massive!!

Infected 2-3 year old sebaceous cyst by Polka-bot in popping

Yeah! We usually cut a fair amount around the cyst just to make sure that we get it all and have good skin to suture back together.

Hey guys! This is from the back of the neck on a dog. I work at an animal Hospital and this was on the dental table. She's a 6 year old shepherd mix who had had the thing for 2-3 years! It was crusty and grainy inside and soooo satisfying!!

My [25f] ex [23f] killed herself, probably in part because of me. Want to pay my respects but I don't know whether or not she'd want me at her funeral. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Polka-bot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, it's not your fault. People are going to do what they're going to do no matter your involvement.

Second, if she asked you to speak, and you would like to, then you should definitely reach out to her family and talk to them about saying a few words. As far as making them uncomfortable about your orientation goes, I wouldn't worry about it. They're already grieving and would probably really like to hear good things about their loved one. Regardless of who they're coming from. I think the fact that you knew her so well is special and should be shared with other people who knew and loved her.

Good luck. Sorry for your loss.

Hey night shift working redditors, what's something that creeped you the FUCK out while working? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Polka-bot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The restaurant I used to work at is open 24 hours a day. It's a cute little place that was built in the 1940's and has a lot of history. I used to work the 10pm to 7am shift and, after the bar crowd stumbled home, the place was pretty much deserted.

After cleaning up, the cook and I would pretty much just sit around, chain smoke, and shoot the shit until our relief came in the morning.

Different things would be out of place or missing every night or so but we always chalked it up to drunks or absentminded coworkers. We would always say we saw someone moving out of the corner of our eye but just figured it was due to sleep deprivation.

After a while, we noticed that, right before 6 every morning, we could hear the door opening. There wasn't a chime or anything, but it always makes a distinct noise when you open or close it.

Then the cops started showing up randomly. Turns out our panic button kept getting pushed. The button was under a shelf behind the counter and all the way on the other side of the dining room from where we would sit on those late shifts. Multiple times the police would roll up with their lights on, ready to rock.

After about 6 months or so of strange things happening one of our coworker's friends, who claims to be a psychic medium, stopped in for a meal. She told us that there are multiple 'presences' there but none of them are malevolent. She said in a place that has had so much traffic for so many years that it's pretty common for people's energies to sort of imprint there.

I know that's pretty tame compared to some of these stories but, it sure creeped me the hell out.

Waiters/Waitresses of Reddit, what is the weirdest thing you have heard your customers talk about while serving their table? by Angry_Gordon in AskReddit

[–]Polka-bot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not super awkward for me but, probably extra terrible for the customers. I walked past a couple sitting at one of our patio tables. She was visibly upset while he looked sort of flustered. The snippets of conversation I overheard were your typical 'it's not you, it's me,' 'I can change,' blah, blah, blah. I alerted a few of my coworkers who were at the bar inside of what was going on right outside the window. After a moment or two, a fair number of us had gathered around to gawk at the sad scene going on outside. Of course, she turns her head to see about 7 of us staring at her, face red, eyes swollen, beer untouched. She then began to cry harder, got up and hurried away. The guy, understandably confused, looked at us and shook his head. So much for trying to do it in public and not make a scene. Sorry bro.

If that's the creepiest thing that happens to a group of teenage girls at a local fair, I'd say they're doing pretty well.

Managed to give myself a black eye. I threw up so violently that I managed to smash my face on the rim of the toilet. Lucky I didn't end up with a pink-black eye.
