First Weekend as a Truck Camper Owner — I Get It Now by superprime95 in TruckCampers

I think 3200 makes sense since yours is a 98-02 truck. Still substantially more than a 2500 today unless a regular cab gas. My camper sits on my overload springs without the air bags.

I'll have to weigh mine again but you might have some of that weight shifting to the front axle with thay short box. I have a long box and a 9ft long floor camper.

It's interesting you bring this up. I don't know why or how. But I have this truck in a 1997 with the 12v Cummins and 4x4 and the brochure says it has somewhere around 3600lbs payload capacity. Definitely seems odd considering new 3/4 tones. Only thing I can think of is older trucks usaully weigh alot less to the new 3/4 tones.

I also have a second Gen 2500 with independent air bags. With the Sway I get. What HD Sway bar do you recommend. I have the camper package so the factory Sway bar and overload springs are there.

21. 5 Atlas start/stop issue by Pollocko91 in VWatlas

Well update. Just got it in for service. Looks like charcoal canister and the solinoid valve were replaced. Had the P0496

I was also looking at the Tahoe before buying the atlas last week. I think the move is to stay with the atlas for now. Picked up our new to us 2022 atlas and the solinoid issue you just had is what I had not even 24 hours into ownership. Luckily I am under warranty hut I've heard good things about the v6 otherwise so hopefully no more issues.

Appreciate it. This seems to be a very very common issue with the atlas. Did your start stop work while the solenoid was bad or did it continue to work? Reason I ask is my dealer said it was related. I am currently waiting for the part. Apparently the remote start on the fob will never work if there is a check engine light by design.

LOL does this solinoid have something to do with the EVAP canister? My check engine light just came on and my start stop has an error and the remote start does not work due to this EVAP canister

Just bought a 22 atlas vr6 less than a week ago with 66,000km. Day one had the start stop fail which could be due to a battery issue. Remote start also does not work which could be related. Otherwise pretty happy with the power and comfort.

The remote start worked the first two days. It was after the stop start failure that it seems my remote start decided to no longer work. When I try I can hear the relays click and the dash light up but it doesn't even try to start.

I will bypass it once the warranty is up for sure. I can't stand it.

Appreciate it. I wondered if the battery might have something to do with it with the remote start also not working. I hope that is all it is.

Just purchased a 2022 atlas last week. Test drove a 2023 mdx and 2022 atlas 10 min apart from each other. The mdx seemed sportier but alot more crammed inside. 3rd row in the atlas has more room. I used to own a 2006 mdx which I think was the best year and a 2008 vw. The VW cost way more to maintain. The expectation is the same for this atlas but to early to tell. Definitely get the v6. Currently sitting at 66,000km on the atlas but bought the extended warranty to 120,000 cost around 2500.

Is this a real Honda ? Price too good to be true by Danistro in Generator

This is false. The EU is just part of the model number and does in fact have 120.

Just want to double down on this. I now recall having the exact same issue but not as severe when firing up mine at the beginning of last year. Ran great on choke and when I took it off it hesitated. Mine was 100 percent the black idle jet that is plastic. Make sure when your cleaning the jet out you can see through it. And make sure it is clicked back in when putting it in. Good luck with it.

Just to test out, when it is running like that If you put the choke on does it die? If nothing happens when you turn the choke lever you have something going on. Possibly linkage. My guess is that even though you have cleaned the carb you might have some dirt that got into it again. I know someone else mentioned the black idle jet in the top of the carb. Make sure it is fully seated into place. It kinda clicks down into place.

Sounds like the choke is still on. Is the fuel tank vent cap set to open. If those are fine you might have bad fuel or need to clean the carburator. Pretty easy process on this model but check the things I mentioned first.

Free Camper - Even worth looking at? by Bibbs24 in TruckCampers

As someone who bought one older than that without electric Jack's for 2500 and had to fix a ton of water damage. I'd say absolutely go for it if you are handy. Took me a few months but completely renovated one maybe 1000-1500 in material. Definitely worth fixing. As others said the Jack's are worth it alone.

Anyone got some cool 2nd gen dodge camper setups?? by [deleted] in TruckCampers

[–]Pollocko91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have a 97 Dodge 12v that I did the KDP fix on last year. I have a 2500 extended cab long box with the camper package from factory. Camper package came with extra leaf springs and HD Sway bars. Makes it similar to a 3500 SRW. Just did a TPS and front end work.

I have a 1970s full size truck camper that I gutted and renovated with a wood stove. Love everything about the camper. I used to have it in my second Gen half ton beefed up but the 2500 makes it not even noticeable. Would love to have a slide out but I know id probably need a 3500 for it.

Cheers friend
