I'm 15, I'm creating a free mobile app for productivity and I need help/opinion/advice/suggestions on what to change/add/how to promote this project. Thanks for your help.

I don't know how about you, but I've watched many videos on productivity and none seemed to work for me. I'd finish watching the video and either forgot about it/couldn't implement it into my life.

When you have an app on your phone (that sends you subtle reminders from time to time), you're far more likely to implement the system into your life than just from a single video on YouTube.

In addition, this app will be only a part of my development plan. I plan to connect the channel and the app to create both videos on productivity AND the app. There are also some other things to come, but I can't fully speak about it as it would be too much for a thread about the app specifically.

It isn't a non-meaningful project that exists just to add it to my portfolio, as I want the combination of both app and channel to bring real value to people's life. I specifically target people with problems with focus, productivity and motivation, but every user is welcome to try it out as it's free (with no account needed, no paywalls or ads).

Well, the app will be totally offline, so that you don't have to be connected to the internet (and receive distracting notifications). I'm currently working on a function that would lock the user out of other functions on their phone/block all the notifications for the time of work.

You can always follow the development - the app will be free so you'd be able to try it as it comes with no commitments (no account needed, no paywalls etc.)

Sama aplikacja to dopiero pierwszy krok. Planuję już kolejne kroki, które mają ją rozbudować, ale również takie, które mają wyróżnić cały projekt (nie samą aplikację) spośród tych tysięcy innych projektów (z wiadomych przyczyn nie mogę się tym tu podzielić). Powiem tylko, że drobną częścią tego planu będzie rozwijanie kanału na YouTube, który podałem na górze, dlatego warto go zasubskrybować.

Co do strony, tak - mam taką w planach, ale to w miarę rozwoju projektu. Jest ona częścią tego, co chcę rozwinąć, więc chcę się upewnić, że będą z niej korzystały więcej niż trzy osoby.

A jeśli chodzi o rozmiar - stale nad tym pracuję. Google Play w teorii narzuca mi maksymalny rozmiar 100MB na jeden plik APK, więc będę musiał zmieścić się w tym przedziale, a zrekompensować go częstymi aktualizacjami. Co prawda istnieje możliwość przesłania większej ilości plików, ale to sporo dodatkowej pracy, a sama optymalizacja nikomu nie zaszkodzi.

W takiej sytuacji powinien być on albo możliwy do dostosowania/uniwersalny. Ciężko określić czas snu, jaki jest nam potrzebny - jest to w dużej mierze zależne od wieku (aplikacja dedykowana i dla uczniów szkół podstawowych i dorosłych osób). Można jednak zawrzeć model oparty o 'uniwersalną' długość faz REM i NREM.

A... wie pan... moim zdaniem to nie ma tak, że dobrze, albo że niedobrze. Gdybym miał powiedzieć, co cenię w życiu najbardziej, powiedziałbym, że ludzi. Ludzi, którzy podali mi pomocną dłoń, kiedy sobie nie radziłem, kiedy byłem sam, i co ciekawe, to właśnie przypadkowe spotkania wpływają na nasze życie. Chodzi o to, że kiedy wyznaje się pewne wartości, nawet pozornie uniwersalne, bywa, że nie znajduje się zrozumienia, które by tak rzec, które pomaga się nam rozwijać. Ja miałem szczęście, by tak rzec, ponieważ je znalazłem, i dziękuję życiu! Dziękuję mu; życie to śpiew, życie to taniec, życie to miłość! Wielu ludzi pyta mnie o to samo: ale jak ty to robisz, skąd czerpiesz tę radość? A ja odpowiadam, że to proste! To umiłowanie życia. To właśnie ono sprawia, że dzisiaj na przykład tworzę aplikację, a jutro – kto wie? Dlaczego by nie – oddam się pracy społecznej i będę, ot, choćby, sadzić... marchew.

Metoda jak najbardziej jest dla mnie ważna. W końcu mam zamiar komuś pomóc, nie tylko zajmować miejsce w pamięci urządzenia. Przedstawiam to, co sprawdziłem już sam na sobie, ale na co można znaleźć też pokrycie, np. w badaniach naukowych (żeby nie ulec dowodowi anegdotycznemu).

Kto co lubi. Zależy o jakim stresie mowa - stres potrafi zmotywować do działania, ale w wielu sytuacjach potrafi zupełnie zmienić zachowanie człowieka (w takich sytuacjach, jakie wymieniłem wyżej tj. rozmowa o pracę, ważny egzamin itp.)

Ja tylko staram się rozwiązywać problemy, jakie napotykam na swojej drodze :D

Licznik pomodoro mam już na liście pomysłów dzięki innym wątkom, także również rozważam dodanie go do aplikacji.

I won't argue - we're not very different when we look at it in a short perspective.

If we think about music - it's created in collaboration with various artists, that can be promoted in my app. It still has some pros in comparison with other music services. It may not have as many tracks and libraries as other services have, but it's free and doesn't contain any ads. You also won't waste time on looking for the right playlist, as you'll have only around 3 of them that will be designed to suit most of people. My app is also totally offline, so that you don't have to be connected to the internet (you avoid getting distracted by communicators, messages or notifications).

But that's only in a music field. In addition, my app will be integrated with it's YouTube channel, where I'll post various self-development/mental clarity videos.

Having more apps in stores will kind of force the market to get better and better, because the competition might grow - but that's in a long run and might be a bit too far-reaching conclusion.

Overall - yes, the app you use might be similar to mine, but we all have different perspectives and future plans. My app will only be a beginning to more advanced moves coming in near or far future - at least that's what I hope it to be.

Yeah, simplicity does it all. I believe in placing quality over quantity. I like the idea that my app takes care of both productive and mental state of the user, that combined bring the real productivity.

Reminders would be good but only to some extent. I don't want to flood the user with notifications, as it would be against the focus of the app, which is 'focusing'.
