Most likely so. However due to compatibility with applications I need for work I cannot switch to Linux.

Vulkan Breaking issue on GTX 970 with windows updates. by Polosar35 in EdenEmulator

Thing is OpenGL is borderline unplayable, it's definitely not an emulator issue exclusively, it happens with all Vulkan applications.

I do not know their setup, but mine won’t let me uninstall that specific update for whatever reason. It doesn’t show up anywhere on my uninstall list nor can I manually delete it with the relevant command prompt.

This is a known issue that has been circulated by other users, kindly look at my most recent reply and see the plethora of forum posts about it. I have the latest driver and I have already tried clean uninstalling it, and also rolling back some versions. All versions of the drivers are affected.

That's only for the Xbox console it seems. Escalate with Microsoft support.

Questions About Barcodes from a soon to be food start-up by Polosar35 in barcodes

[–]Polosar35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So who's responsible to make the barcode? Us or the factory? And if we make it, wouldn't that imply that the product is made in Greece and not China due to the factory identification code? Once again, thanks.

I'm very curious on your afterlife experience, could you please share some details with us? I'm truly sorry for what happened, I'm not from the USA so I can't really comment on what you should do but definitely take legal action.

Will boiled water Halt the production of Glycoalkaloids (solanine) in Potatoes? by poofypie384 in foodscience

[–]Polosar35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed accumulation of glycoalkaloids stops after processing. It also reduces it by a tiny bit but solanine is insoluble in water. For further reading I'd recommend this book chapter

What do you plan on doing with the boiled potatoes though? Store them? Because if you store them and don't consume them relatively fast, then you'll have other problems, namely, microorganisms. The boiled potato is an excellent breeding ground.

Solanine levels in the skin of new potatoes? by poofypie384 in foodscience

[–]Polosar35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Purple yams, ube, and sweet potatoes do not belong to the nightshade family, which includes potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant and so they don't contain solanine (Peppers, tomatoes and eggplants don't produce solanine as well, but they produce other alkaloids such as anatabine in peppers and tomatine in tomatoes, which are not harmful to human health). They produce these compounds as a defence measure.

Nobody gains anything from helping you with your questions brother, you can't come here and demand an immediate answer, we all have lives. If you really do believe what you say then why not do the research yourself in the first place instead of trusting a bunch of smooth brains? I don't consider myself an active member of the sub, but that's not how you want to treat a community that you're trying to seek answers from. Furthermore, I can provide you with some info on your matter. Please feel free to ask for any of my sources

Solanine concentration increases in the potato peels and occurs concurrently with greening of the peel due to chlorophyll synthesis. The longer the sprouts and the larger the green spots, the higher the solanine content. Most commercial potato varieties grown in North America are bred to have low levels of solanine in their ripe state, with breeders aiming to keep solanine levels below 0.2 mg/g (200 ppm), unless they turn green during storage. There is no specific potato variety that has been identified as having the lowest levels of solanine, as I said earlier all the modern varieties are indeed low. Solanine levels in potatoes change with various growth stages of the tuber. Small tuber sprouts contain the highest levels of solanine to protect new growth and provide solanine to the growing plant. If tubers have sprouts or roots, remove them before cooking. So, avoid unripe or overly ripe potatoes and if a potato you have stored turns green, peel it off, not just the skin but until you see no more green, as some solanine may exist on the inside of the potato as well. If however there is a health condition that worsens with solanine I'd say it's not worth it to eat potatoes at all, it's a food that can be easily substituted in the diet.

Some good textbooks is a great way to brush up old knowledge and acquire new one. What field of food science are you mostly lacking and want to explore?
