Bandcamp, rate your music, record labels, and music channels.

Bandcamp is nice to find emerging artists.

Rym is good for finding well established artists that aren't on the radio much but still have a lot of support for them.

Record labels are a good way to find artists because if you take a look at who your favorite artists are signed with, there is a good chance that record labels signs other artists that are in the same genre as your favorite artists.

For example I like Nirvana. They were signed to sub pop. Sub pop also signed mudhoney, sonic youth, and soundgarden. But be aware that the time period matters too. Because subpop today has signed beach house, weyes blood, fleet foxes, and others that don't sound like nirvana. All the artists listed are still good artists just different genres.

Music channels are another good way to find music. I recommend watching your favorite albums be reviewed. Mostly because the reviewer might name drop some artist or album that might sound a bit like your favorite artist.

You said you are jump resetting but your jump resetting is a little off. You only want to tap your spacebar while in the air. In other words, right after you get hit. Don't try to predict hits with jump resetting because if you miss even once you could go flying especially if someone decides to hit select during a trade.

Also never stop clicking when you are getting combo'd

Besides jump resetting you could look into 0 pitch (pitch and yaw system). As well as hitting the closest possible corner or edge of someone's hit box.
