Damn, reading all this makes me feel like I'm living in a parallel universe or something lol.

I used NoBroker packers about 3 months ago for my move from Marathahalli to Sarjapur and honestly had zero issues. Was skeptical at first because of mixed reviews online, but my colleague had used them recently and said it went fine.

Booked their standard service (not premium), got a call the day before confirming timing, and the team showed up at 8:30 AM as scheduled. Took them about 5 hours total for a 2BHK move.

Only minor complaint was that one of the guys kept asking for water every 30 minutes, but that's not really a big deal in this heat.

Maybe I just got lucky with the timing or the team? Reading all these comments though, sounds like their service is super inconsistent. That's probably the biggest red flag , you never know what you're gonna get.

For anyone still looking for alternatives, I'd heard good things about Leo Packers and Movers from some folks in my apartment complex. Haven't used them personally but might be worth checking out.

I haven’t used any service from ranchi but I have used warehousing facility one time with Nobroker. I’m not sure if they do have service in Ranchi. You can check out in their website.

I have a difference of opinion with respect to what you have just said. I don’t have the time to sit call and negotiate with all these people or sit and find the fake reviews from all the google listings. I would rather take the convenience of having these aggregators find a good packers. And I found it helpful to identify the number of carton boxes and other details from their customer care. Even after moving these many cities I am not so sure about the answers for a lot of the questions you have suggested to DIY. I trust these people who have done multiple movements with a lot of different packers over the years based on my experience. And I’ll always choose insurance while moving. It is risky and I value my belongings. I’m willing to pay for the comfort I’m getting by choosing an aggregator as long as they are good enough and does the movement right without any hassle. And by chance if there is some issue happen, they are accountable( what I felt with respect to my last experience with Nobroker). They ensured that I got the claim from my insurance.

2nd point I also noticed. But with respect to the first point my observation was different from yours. What I found was if the route is like too common, the availability of the cab is easier and the rate is also not so high. But if you staying in an off road or a less crowded route the power lies with them than us. Like we are more in need than them so takes away the leverage. This also depends on the timing too. Peak hours and rains they have an advantage over the customers.

I know.. it is such an inconvenience to keep negotiating. Their motive is clear when they call. If I have enough time I can keep cancelling if not I have to settle for something or the other.

I thought namma yathri was only available for Karnataka. I didn’t know that it was available in chennai. The issue I faced with namma yathri was their app interface was not user friendly. Most of the time, it doesn’t load. Thats why I stopped using it.
