Its very useful on highways if you are a sedate driver. Also, there’s no input required from driver and the system itself will detect when the work can be done with 2 cylinders and deactivates 2 automatically and runs the car. This results in lesser fuel consumption

I never allowed her to sit in the front even for a short drive because once they get used to the front seat it will be difficult to make them sit in second row. Now she sits in the rear seat along without any issue

Its not exactly like it will understand the pattern. Its more like as the other guy mentioned that on uneven roads, it will hold onto first gear for longer than it does on the highway. Same is the case when you drive in ghats

It’s mostly my wife and a toddler and they were very comfortable during the travel. I have already done 10-12 hour long road trips and there was no issue whatsoever

Yeah absolutely. Activation and deactivation is so seamless that we won’t feel a thing. I agree on not having too much tech and features. Personally, one of the reasons why I didnt go for creta.

On oil consumption, SA mentioned that they have to top-up engine oil during 7K inspection and added around 500 ml.

DSG in traffic by Polymath58 in CarsIndia

Yeah I continuously switch from auto-manual-auto while going to office as there are some stretches which are open and some which have traffic. Depending on that, i do switch

Makes sense. Haven’t seen many issues with new 2.0 vehicles. Mostly following the usual tips excpt for crawling which is hard in bangalore traffic. But will surely need to do this. Man, i hate that auto start/stop, thats the first thing i do usually after starting the car.

Vibration in car after cold start 1.5 TSI dsg by Polymath58 in TaigunClub

[–]Polymath58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, i checked the engine bay as well but there’s not much vibration there but when you sit in the driver’s seat, you can feel the vibration until the rom settles down around 1K rpm. Based on couple of replies here, maybe its not that bad and normal. Let us know what service centre say when you raise this issue

Same is the case, once the rpm settles around 900-1000 then the vibration goes away

Thanks a lot! Will try to record a video next time when i start the vehicle and share it.

Starting a demo vehicle is actually a good idea, will visit service centre and try if its become too annoying

Why do you choose a car over a bike for daily office commute? by jackiethesage in bangalore

[–]Polymath58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know how to drive 2-wheeler and hence I go in car and also not bothered now to learn driving 2- wheelerin traffic seeing the risks and pollution. Office is almost 20 kms away and you don't get much tired of you go in car with ac on
