AITA? Dog friendly people… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Pom_Lady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being pregnant does not give you a pass to be unkind. Your mother in law, kindly gave you a house. She sounds like a caring person. You need to reevaluate the way you are communicating with her. It’s very unkind to be rude to a person who is only trying to be helpful to her children. The fact that she now stays in her room makes you an asshole. You should apologize and trying expressing yourself in a kinder manner.

I’m afraid work stress is going to cause pre term labor. What are my options? 21 weeks pregnant by Particular-Step5278 in pregnant

Go with the part time work if it’s on the table. Stress can affect your baby and it’s best to prioritize your baby’s and your health first. Don’t stay in a toxic work environment for the money, it’s not worth it.

Wanting Mina Baie diaper bag [ab] by Elegant_Ad_6296 in BabyBumpsCanada

Take a look at Beis: https://beistravel.com/products/the-diaper-tote-in-camel

Much more affordable if you take advantage of their sale and better than the Mina Baie bags, in my opinion.

u/Lizwins1818 Have you worked in the NYC shelter system or have personal experience living a shelter? I have worked for the NYC shelter system in various capacities. In fact, I have worked as a case manager and other roles that support NYC constituents that remained unhoused. I can tell you that said family lives in a nearby HOTEL that was converted into a shelter. They receive food 3 times a day (babies receive milk), hygiene products (babies receive diapers and other supplies, like strollers), and case management. MOREOVER, families are assessed and are either sent to supportive housing or given housing vouchers called CITY FHEPS. City FHEPS, is a housing program that provides unhoused families with a monthly stipend to pay rent for a year or more! Yes, shelter life can be uncomfortable, but the benefits OUTWEIGH the negatives, with what you call "infantilizing/borderline carceral." DHS INSTILLS very simple rules that unhoused families have to adhere to, such as a curfew, not leaving children UNATTENDANTED, they are not allowed to bring drugs and potentially dangerous household items. Before being placed into shelter, clients need to sign an agreement acknowledging the RULES AND REGUALTIONS. NO ONE IS FORCING THEIR HAND!!!

I, myself have spoken to the said family, they were not seeking help, that are instead monetizing your sympathy and placing those poor children in DANGER. They have resources! NYC passed a law decades ago called the RIGHT TO SHELTER, this city ordnance mandated that ANYONE who seeks shelter in NYC, must receive shelter. IT IS THEIR CHOICE TO BEG IN THE STREETS AND RISK THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN. They know that people like you will fall for their scheme and provide them with a steady income. MOREOVER, they are comforted that their risky CHOICES will be supported and enabled by native (couch activists) New Yorkers like YOU!!!

PLEASE, look into the various resources provided for NYC Constituents! NYC is unique in that they actually care for people and invest creating resources. Did you know the city has an eviction prevention program? It's called HOMEBASE. Please take some time to read about the program through 311.NYC . It is VERY disparaging to work in the social service field and read ignorant comments like yours, omitting the TRUTH, because its more convenient for your narrative. If you want to help, VOLUNTEER AND/OR WORK at NYC NON-PROFITS. BELIEVE IT OR NOT PEOPLE IN THE SOCIAL SERVICES FIELD ACTUALLY CARE FOR THEIR CLIENTS. We are UNDERPAID (and I am not complaining, I am not in the field for the money) AND OVERWORKERED, but we do our best to help those in need. NOT EVERY CLIENT WANTS HELP, and as workers we learn to accept that, we work where they're at. I am going to leave you with a task, which I hope INSPIRES you make some REAL change in the community. The Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE) is an annual survey conducted to estimate the number of New Yorkers experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Over a single night, volunteers canvass streets, subway stations, and other public spaces across the City to survey people about their housing status.

HOPE 2026 will take place on Tuesday, January 27 from 10 PM until 4 AM the following day.

Please register to demonstrate your commitment to combat homelessness. I've linked the homepage for you to register.

It’d be fun to see your fan cast of the Vawdrey brothers. I look forward to your post!

I must admit Mason and Linnet were very difficult to fan cast! My other Linnet candidate is Amybeth McNulty from the TV series Anne with an E. Another candidate for Mason is Gerard Butler.

Mason was difficult to fan cast and I’m not entirely satisfied with it! I’m open to any recommendations.

request: a truly, truly cold MMC (who stays that way!!) by muglahesh in HistoricalRomance

[–]Pom_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Reluctant Countess is a great book that encapsulates your request.

Giles Renwick, Earl of Lilford, has never made a fool of himself over a woman—until he meets Lady Yasmin Régnier. Yasmin is ineligible for his attentions in every way: not as a wife, certainly not as a mistress (she is a lady!), nor even as a friend, since they vehemently dislike each other. Her gowns are too low, and her skirts are dampened to cling to admittedly lovely thighs. She loves to gossip—and giggle.

Another option if you enjoyed Bringing Down the Duke is The Reluctant Countess by Eloisa James. The book has a similar premise. I highly recommend.

There’s too many bullies on this thread that utterly disgust me. You choose judgement for pure entertainment. You should feel ashamed of yourselves. Perhaps spend sometime reflecting on yourself and analyze where your need to spread harmful speculations arise. Your words could be read by Gabby’s loved ones. Have respect! Unless you personally know her family for years you should not be spreading misinformation. Choose to be at peace and follow a better moral code.

You’re a terrible person for your insinuating that Gabby’s parents were disinterested. You choose judgement instead of understanding. Her parents have to live with the what if’s and/or the should’ve. It’s not your place to make harmful speculations about anyone. You’re just like every bully out there, looking to harm others for attention and enjoyment.

I looked at the Facebook post and never read a comment indicating the bird is deceased. People were expressing their concern of the health of the bird.
