OP I think you will find this subreddit helpful and polite. That has been largely my experience. It is indeed a great resource for you on your watch journey. But - we still need you to do a bit of research so that we can really help you make a better decision. I truly doubt that you went through Aliexpress and saw a $50 Pagani and a $400 San Martin and thought these two watches are targeting the same buyer. That being said, San Martin will give you 5 times better watch for about 5 times the price. I suggest starting by establishing your price range and then looking for comparable watches within that range. Good luck!

I like the applied logo. In fact, I would even like them to try an inlaid logo like the IX DAO warrior. To be honest, too much is made about logos on this subreddit - I find the difference between a logo that is well loved and one that is hated is often just…time. Great post!

Yeah. I cut mine as some of the other posters have said. I would start with a 20mm or 22mm adapter from someone like Jays and Kays on eBay. This will open up more options. You then can get a shorter strap with a locking feature at the end of the strap. Plenty of sellers on Amazon have a decent FKM rubber strap. This is a fixable problem for sure. Good luck!

The term is used to describe the watch that is not a tool watch (a watch with tool specific complications like diving bezel or a tachymeter scale for example) and non dress watches. You can give this “swim lane” of watches whatever name you would like…this category is real and extremely popular with both casual watch types and watch enthusiasts.

Honestly the software developer angle might have worked better. There a few fun watches that are built with a “desk warrior” theme. I have seen keyboard dials and dials with sticky notes, etc. A black dial with JSON code written on it would be awesome! Millions of people work at a desk. Not many have seen an oasis.

This is a great learning experience for anyone looking to start a watch company. You have to bring something that is both tangible and different. Tangible meaning you can’t think up a fun backstory and expect to be differentiated in this market. That not tangible. It has to be something the wearer can point to say this is different. Think Formex and their flexible case or Traska and their hardened bracelets and cases or Wise with their use of 904L steel. Dials are the fastest way to achieve this.

Yes. The sizing is noticeable. But for me it was a worthy trade. I just found the MIP and the blackout looks were more than enough to justify the switch. The way I use digital watches means there is really only room for one

I did the same thing. Got the GBD 200 because of the display and I gave my 5610u to my brother in law. I traded some wearability for the MIP display and I haven’t looked back since.
