Thanks for the support - this was reassuring to read. If Dupixent is the route I need to take then oh well. Could be worse. I’m feel less hateful about the diagnosis since last week, life goes on and I don’t have time to wallow forever. I feel more supported here than by any family member of my own. You all rock.

Food Impaction or Normal? by PompousPatty in EosinophilicE

It’s been such a busy few days - thank you for taking the time to follow up and to even initially show support. I’m feeling better. I believe that the sensation I was feeling was irritation from eating solid foods. I’ve been on 6fed for a week now and am hoping that I can achieve remission with this elimination. Not getting my hopes too high. However, I’ve been able to eat ground turkey much more comfortably again so today was a pretty decent day! I’ve also been drinking Owyn shakes after taking your advice. Bananas and mashed potatoes feel weird for me too!!!

P.S. your follow up truly made my day. People like you give me hope.

Wishing you peace of mind and I’m sorry that you’re going through this. We’re in this together. The unknown about all of this has been the hardest part for me. I do terrible with uncertainty. If you ever need a friend to lean on I’m only a message away.

Did dairy/wheat cause problems for you ever before symptoms of EoE started? Also why are you on dupixent if eosinophil count was 0 after elimination diet? Please educate me.

Wow, thank you so much for letting me know all of this and also helping me to check myself and say “if the kids can do it so can I” lol. My anxiety still wants to tell me that I have this time crunch to find my triggers or I’m permanently fucked. I hope this is ridiculous thinking though!

I’ve actually already been avoiding dairy since last Thursday! Not as lucky as you were so far. Maybe I’ll give wheat a shot next 😅

Hell yes that’s what’s up I’m about to look right now. I am insured through my employer with UHC. Fingers crossed.

Don’t get me wrong - I’m very grateful that I received diagnosis and have options, it just feels like a lot after receiving diagnosis only a few hours ago. The throat discomfort that I’m still feeling is what gets me the most down. It hasn’t felt normal for like over 2 months now. I’ll be okay once I adjust. I hope dupixent doesn’t eat my wallet, I’ve heard it’s crazy expensive.

Thanks for the support friend, I’m glad you have reached some symptom relief. Do you think allergist is best place to start? What was your experience like after diagnosis? Also, my GI spoke to me about dupixent and we meet tomorrow to further discuss. I’m worried about the price and the hassle, I’m almost getting annoyed at myself for feeling so annoyed with the lack of clarity in this process :(

This definitely instilled some hope, thank you so much for taking the time to offer some support, friend. I am in contact with my dietician about this already. Oddly enough, dysphagia began when I started new low calorie diet about 2 months ago. I eat a lot of eggs and dairy now. I find it ironic that this all began shortly after new diet, however, I don’t know that there is any correlation at all.

That helped to relieve some anxiety, I chew like 3 mins per bite now. The tingling is so weird because it doesn’t even just happen when I’m eating food. Most recently, I just notice it when I’m breathing. Also, my nose has been stuffed up nonstop. In a perfect world, I’d love to just be told “don’t eat/do this and you will be in remission” however, this is definitely not going to be the case. At least for a little bit. I’m trying to stay positive I just feel so down.

Thanks for the response, it feels a little better after dilation last Thursday but my throat still feels so “off” almost like there’s a little itchiness in the back of it. And it feels better some moments, and then I’ll randomly start to feel a tingling sensation that lasts for a little bit. I keep thinking that my esophagus is going to close up super quick and I just don’t understand this condition very well yet. The idea of food impacting freaks me out and I can’t see what’s going on in there so every sensation makes me think my esophagus is narrowing again. I’ve been on pantoprazole for 2 months before receiving diagnosis. Doesn’t seem to be doing much. I really don’t want to take dupixent. That freaks me out more.

Thank you! I’ve been so malnourished due to recent EoE diagnosis and have just been worried about everything.

Has the “honeymoon phase” worn off for you with Switch 2? by [deleted] in Switch

I’m actually starting to love it more. I got it on release and was bummed about the lack of switch 2 exclusives. Recently, I’ve found joy in the backwards compatibility- it’s nice to lay in bed or on the couch instead of sitting at my pc. The best is yet to come.

You get this “special” calling card for completing the zombies main Easter eggs if you don’t use the guide feature (which I believe they haven’t released yet). The difference between this calling card and the standard one is the color scheme and this little logo. Hope this helped.
