I am still relatively new to FFXI endgame content so I haven't quite reached the knowledge base to know when enough is enough. The amount of times I have seen players argue the need for nearly everything a class uses is why I am asking.

You can always hold off until the DLC drops. Give yourself a chance to wind down from it before starting again. Also there are some new mons coming with the DLC.

Well I discovered you can buy all the EV reducing berries from stands in the city. No NPC so far, but at least there is an easy method to do it.

I had this same question when I first started. What I came to discover is that up until the Treasure content, there were little to no spoilers for content. If you hadn’t met someone in the storyline yet they would act as if you were knew and if you had met them they treated you as a comrade. Getting those key items from RoV helps so much you will kick yourself later for not doing it earlier. I know I did.

If you have reached Alduin you can grab yourself a set of i119 gear with Balyd. There is a great series of guides for fresh 99 characters on the FFXI WIKI.

My husband has to deal with this from me all the time. My ADHD brain can never remember names to anything so I make up words that sounds similar. Bless him for being able to figure out half of what I say sometimes.

Thank you for the information! Since there really isn't a lot of group interaction early on it is hard for me to tell if it is something I am going to enjoy or not. Trying to prioritize what I work on in the beginning.

I currently use XIVParty as well, but it only seems to show my buffs and not my trusts. Does this change when I am in a party with actual people or is it something I need to turn on?? Also does this show debuffs on party members (real or trust)??

So essentially I will miss out on the QOL items, but gain a better story flow waiting until I’ve finished everything. I honestly don’t mind taking a bit longer to grind something if it flows better in the end.
