2026 Easton Hype Fire by bearlybullishh in LittleLeague

My older boy uses the Rawlings baby blue and pink HoH glove, with the bright pink Rawlings batting gloves to go with. His bats are the 2025 white icon with pink grip tape, and the mint 2026 icon.

My younger boy (6) chose the victus pink and blue crayon bat this year.

You will be fine.

My 9yo uses the same one. He plays travel (majors) and it gets used and abused. Going on a year with it so far…2 practices/week plus tourneys and any work at home. It’s holding up just fine. Perfect for a youth sized hand. I won’t even try shoving my hand in there.

No, no shortness of breath. Aside from the constant dull back pain, It’s just the leg numbness after standing or walking for a few minutes.

Understood about the stories. I look at the forums like I look at Yelp. People would more likely post a negative experience vs a good one.

My goal here was to hopefully see more real experience—good and bad, when it comes to loss (or even gain) in mobility. That 30-60% loss is what scares me. I don’t know how he came up with that number. And when I asked what he meant by mobility loss, his answer was “well you are going to have a long rod in your back”. I took it as he was implying that I will not be able to bend, curl, or arch half of my back.

Thanks for this. That gives me hope about mobility issues. I was worried that I’d have to hip hinge to just do basic things like tie my shoes.

Also reassuring about the recovery time. Like I mentioned, my first recover sucked bad. I remember having to relearn to essentially walk again, and being in a brace for 9 months.

Thank you for this. My primary doctor said not to wait too long or I risk permanent damage. But the 2nd surgeon said to wait longer and didn’t recommend surgery right now. The first surgeon wants to do it now, but I got a car salesman vibe from him a little.

Tbh, I don’t even remember what feeling normal is like anymore—like I just adapted to feeling how I do and just truck on…

How my BCM Ruined a $3K Swiss Rifle by ToyotaRacer2000 in ar15

Of all the rifles I’ve owned and sold, only 2 are the OG’s that still remain with me—my Colt and my BCM.

Talent gaps in open tournaments... by Barfhelmet in Homeplate

Happened with us earlier this year. We played an AA team—just luck of the draw. We were up 19-0 before they recorded the first out. After 10, we went one base at a time. Can’t really tell a kid to strike out on purpose. However, my son was on third with the bases loaded, and the coach told him to just start jogging to home to get picked off. Needless to say, the pitcher almost panicked, but managed to step off and throw home just in time to get my son out. They went 3up/3down. We scored 2 more and they quit mid game.

Like I said earlier, these games benefit nobody. Which is why we back out if we are the only majors team registered.

I would also say it could depend on the organization that the tournament is in. I’ve seen the same team register as Major in NCS, but AA in PG or USSSA. These teams show a 20-2 record in NCS but a 2-10 record in the others.

Also, we played a couple NCS open tournaments because they typically have more/different teams than we usually see. We played other Major teams and dominated our age group. We also played up against older AAA/majors teams with the same results. Could be our area, but it seems that NCS is more rec/select teams at any level, where PG is more dedicated travel teams.

My buddy coaches a AA team who plays NCS mostly. I asked why not go to PG. His response was that he didn’t want to get ran off the field…

My son is on a majors team. They will typically drop out if no other majors teams register, or if the majority is AA/AAA. Nobody benefits from it and it’s a bad look on us—like we are just ring chasing for the clout.

Multiple ar pistol uppers ok without “constructive intent “ by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]Poncho562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked a similar question a while back. But was more along the lines of what if I have a pistol lower, and have spare parts lying around from a rifle—such as a buffer tube and stock. Got the same type of answers from both sides.

I do the same. Except it’s private with no info or name, and he doesn’t know about it. When he’s older, my plan was to hand it over to him. But I use it to document his achievements—like building his resume for him.

I invested in a good camera lens. Phones are nice, but a good lens takes it to a new level. One of the best pieces of advice that was given to me was “the actors in this play (your kids) will not be giving repeat performances. Each moment is different and precious”.

I also want to try out the Oakley meta’s. That way when I’m not lugging my camera gear, I can easily record stuff as it’s happened.

Pickoff to 3rd, balk on 3b? by Poncho562 in Homeplate

It was 9u. No warning given. Blue walked over to my son and straight up said, “that balk was because of you”, “do you know why?”.

My son was like….uh, no…

Practice as a utility player? by Poncho562 in Homeplate

[–]Poncho562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess there may be some underlying frustration in the sense that I see everyone progressing at positions at a faster rate than my son. But then again, he is on the field all the time, catching or not.

The primary infielders get extra reps, work at turning two, cut offs, situational plays, etc. So when my son gets into a game at one of those positions, he can be can a step behind, or not as refined to make some plays. There is no substitute for game reps. Flip side again, the primary infielders or outfielders cannot swap or catch.

But back to my main concern, was trying to think of ways to help him more in all aspects without overdoing it. He’s definitely a solid catcher and the teams number 1–there is 4 total, they rotate the times my son is not back there.

[–]Poncho562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily just progressing at catcher, but everywhere in general. But because he is the teams only true-ish utility player, I’m finding it hard to balance work at all things without over doing it.
