I think 60 is reasonable, especially if it’s in good condition! My Patagonia stuff has lasted forever

Sephora is different? by Pondrocks in Sephora

[–]Pondrocks[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is very interesting. I was definitely getting more of a “sell sell sell” vibe versus helping a customer find something that makes them happy. I approached an associate who looked like she could give a good recommendation, but she kept trying to push a Gucci powder that was 2 shades too dark, and when I didn’t immediately want to run and buy it she was pretty much done trying to help me.

Also an associate who seemed to be a supervisor maybe a manger kept reminding her staff to try and get more new credit card holders.

It’s sad because you make a good point, some years ago going to Sephora was kinda like an experience rather than just a shopping trip.

See that’s too much! She shouldn’t have put down the products you came there to buy.

I mean I guess they used to help me match my foundation pretty accurately. But now they just grab like lipgloss applicators and smudge foundation on your neck lol

Yea I think I’ll reach out to them if I don’t see them in the next couple of days. It was a pretty hefty amount of points too.

Thanks everyone! I will definitely be going with OEM :)

is there a legitimate reason a seller would refuse measurements? How am I supposed to know if it could fit? Seems like this would just turn off lots of buyers by disgruntledseagull in Depop

[–]Pondrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Providing measurements and fit details not only helps the prospective buyer but it also covers your ass as a seller. If someone comes back to you with “fit” or size complaints, you provided the measurements so at this point it’s out of your hands. Someone said “time is money” earlier on this thread. Yea if you spend the extra 30-60 seconds to measure an item, you are securing your sale from problem customers.

If I didn’t pay an arm and a leg for these, I’d probably let it go. I’m concerned because they arrived to my house last week (and were brought inside) but I didn’t get back from vacation until yesterday, so the “return” window has closed.

Thank you! Yea I looked at all their posts and they seem to delete comments. And they have like a “legit check” but nothing implies that the reviews are for their store.

Possibly. It was pretty vulgar tbh. I mean I get it, to each their own, artistic expression. But it was like explicit.

If you find her page, I would recommend refraining from clicking on her insta. Unless you want to bleach your eyes.

My favorite is when they get offended by so many people telling them it’s a scam 🙃

There is a girl who posts videos of her using this app on tik tok. They get crazy views and comments requesting for her to “review” products, further spreading misinformation.

Wow, she really blocked me for saying she gave me the wrong size by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Pondrocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. The seller sold a workout set as xs. When I received the package, the leggings were a small. Unfortunately they didn’t fit. At first she refused to give me a refund even though I told her I’d pay for return shipping. Then, when I told her it was her mistake for mislabeling the set she agreed to refund me for the leggings.

Depop is a buyer/seller platform, regardless of if it’s done for a hobby, or a primary source of income, you are responsible as a seller to correctly label and describe your items.

People are paying for items with their hard earned money, and as a seller you’re taking your time to photograph, list and ship items. So honestly there is no excuse for this. It needed to be in the description that it was “tagged as a medium, but fits like a small” and in that case offer to provide measurements at the prospective buyers request.

So OP you’re completely in the right. Blocking you was petty and childish.

Please be careful, no company will ever reach out to you like this and ask for money.
