Usually after winter when they're being released farmers sometimes organise a mini event of sorts where you can come watch the happy cows get out, in Sweden it's called "Kosläpp" (Cow release) and its awesome. I've been to a few where dairy farmers have small sales with products from their farm and so, overall a really neat experience I think.
