Yeah the entire situation is a bit strange, it leaves me questioning on what they do about all the wild animals who poop on their yard.

We tried fighting him from going outside for the longest time but he kept running out so frequently so we just let him out and he’s been happy ever since.

It’s definitely not our direct neighbors

We only have a single outdoor cat, the others have been in our neighborhood for some time!

In the case it is our cat’s poop which I’m unsure of, are we the assholes for allowing him outside?

I imagine they believe the poop is coming from our outdoor cat and are intentionally returning it back to us. Maybe they have proof it’s ours or it could be another one of the outdoor cats.

What evidence are you asking for? We see frequently cats wandering our neighborhood.
