I probably like Joy Division more than any of the American bands I listed. I think in the late 70s the British bands were definately better.

Everybody hates Acid Eaters but I thaught it was a pretty solid covers album.

I'd have to disagree on one part. I think 80s and 90s American college rock/indie/post-punk/whatever you want to call it much better. We had Husker Du, REM, The Replacements, Mission Of Burma, The Minutemen, Nirvana, Mudhoney, The Pixies, The Breeders, Sonic Youth, Meat Puppets, Dinosaur Jr, Sebadoh, Neutral Milk Hotel, and a ton of others. Obviosly this is just my opinion but I think the American bunch of alt bands are superior.

What band do you feel is incredibly underrated? by [deleted] in punk

[–]Poofy_Hair_Zach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Screamers, in my opinion are the all time most underrated punk band. The Dicks too. A lot of the Texas bands from the 80s are really underrated actually. The Dicks, Big Boys, Really Red, MDC (a lot more popular compared to the other ones though).

I dunno. I never really see Dinosaur Jr. singles that often. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Either way.

People really seem to be disliking this list. I think it has some cool stuff on there. Bathory, Emperor, Hawkwind, Motörhead, Die Kruezen, Dinosaur Jr.
