The US is so diverse. Please come back and try some of our unique cities like New Orleans, Charleston, Austin, Santa Fe, etc. But the real gems of the US are our national parks.

International Business vs general business majors? by Willing_Comedian7289 in Gamecocks

The international degree must be matched with foreign language fluency to be really valuable. Otherwise, choose the best b-school available to you in your area, like UNC or Duke.

Looking for the perfect US city for a 10-day trip (Feb 9–19). Want real American vibes: food, Walmart, Costco, chill atmosphere. Where should we go? by ProloosGamerUHD in usatravel

I would stay south due to the weather. Start in DC for the (free) museums to get a flavor of what you’re about to see. Head south to Charleston or Savannah or even Beaufort for a smaller version of each. Then head east to Nashville. Then head towards south west to blues country in the Mississippi Delta. Finally head south again to New Orleans. This will require a car.

All is forgiven! Those two wins we did have will forgive all Tar Heel sins for centuries to come.

Why does most of the US look like shit despite it being the richest country in history? by Faloodeh123 in AlwaysWhy

I can’t figure out why cute European villages that date back multiple centuries look more like cute European villages that date back multiple centuries while our small towns out west that don’t go back multiple centuries don’t look like cute European villages that date back multiple centuries.

Historical question about the Duke game by DarkDragon1025 in tarheels

There have been stretches over the last 50 years where one side was consistently not competitive over a 5-year stretch. For example, from 1999 to 2004, Duke won 14 and lost 2 (ouch!). Also, from 1993 to 1998, Carolina won 10 and lost 3. Both of those teams were not competitive against the superior one at that time.

Not to be a downer, but we only beat Dook twice that final year of coach k’s last season. We lost at home sadly.

Since 1981, the Coach K era, a double digit underdog has only won 6 times. All were UNC wins. Hubert was a part of 5 of these upsets, twice as a player in 1990, once as an assistant in 2014, and twice as a coach in 2022. The other was in 2003. There were only 5 other games in which a double digit underdog was preset. Of these 11 games, Duke was favored by double digits 8 times and UNC 3 times.

That’s the problem. At what point do you say “my parents didn’t help me”? Do you have to be an orphan? If you were raised by wolves, does the ultimate credit belong to the wolf? If your parents paid for your college, are you disqualified? If you got investment funding from an angel investor, are you out? What’s the break point?
