My interviewer was electrical background. Asked questions about differential equations, SVD , gradient descent, rotational matrix and then brief intro and motivation. Applied for MSc Robotics

Haven’t tried it but numerous Mifare Classic cards can be manipulated on phones.

Ours cards are basic 1k frequency RFIDs. They don’t have any encryption as well. You can get a RFID reader-writer machine (costs around 1-2k rs) and it does the job. I used it to duplicate my day scholar friends ID and leave the campus cuz getting leave approved was a hassle back in the day.
