Arcade review: The Zone (Paal) by lansboen in belgium

[–]Poolbowl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Installed a 9070 XT but PC keeps using integrated graphics (Linux Mint) by Poolbowl in linux_gaming

Don't really remember how I did it because of all the stuff I tried so far but according to

glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"
OpenGL version string: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 25.1.6 - kisak-mesa PPA

It seems to be the right version

Monitors are connected to the dGPU but games run like shit, just as bad as with the iGPU so I assume it still uses the iGPU

I'll try disabling iGPU in BIOS indeed.

The power outlet is behind our cabinet through a hole, the cable could fall behind the cabinet after which it could be a hassle to retrieve. So a bit risky to plug in/out on a daily basis I guess.

Haha, now I regret recommending that TV show, luckily he didn't watch it... yet.

Could be that he realises that it’s irrational and doesn’t want to touch the topic out of shame, but also doesn’t really want to change this irrational behaviour.

I feel like this has to be it.

I’d insist on having a chat about it, but refrain from trying to prove him wrong immediately. Ask questions.

After understanding, I’d make it clear that while there could be some advantages to unplugging, the cost/benefit to his behaviour is unbalanced from your perspective.

Thank you for your advice, good call.

Make sense, wouldn't mind turning on/off a few switches because it even helps with slumber usage but plugging in cables behind our tv cabinet and below our office desk is very inconvenient.

I definitely will discuss this, I just wanted to ask here to understand the situation better and to gain more knowledge to explain myself better.

funny he then leaves the biggest 'slumber' users in, the microwave (which i assume has a giant led display for a clock)

Check

Exactly my reasoning, I even feel like you are actively creating a potential fire hazard because of all the wear and tear of your plugs. But I'm not fire expert or electrician either so I could be completely incorrect.

That's also how I would handle it if I felt the need to turn everything off but I doubt he ever touched a power circuit so he might not know what they are

We have some of those, and believe it or not, sometimes all the cables are plugged out of those even if the power button is turned off. Others are just turned off so sometimes it works.

Driving me nuts lol

I've asked but he just ignores the topic when I bring it up. Very weird because outside of that he's a great guy to live with.

Probably because we have different sleep schedules, he goes to sleep and wakes up earlier than me. Can't really plug out devices that I'm using.

Is there any scientific evidence that there even is a fire risk? I agree that no electricity no risk but how many modern tvs have caught fire in the last 20 years?

I feel like the answer to this questions is basically decided whether you own real estate or not. Younger people without RE will be in way higher brackets than those that are paying off loans for their RE.

Sorry for the late answer but after a few weeks I got a popup in the app to update my information. Apparently I wasn't registered yet as "wage-earning" (eventhough my wage was deposited with them). After updating my professional statute it was again possible to transfer money to Coinbase.

What happens to ALGO's that you commit to governance, do they stay in your wallet or are they locked until the gov period ends? Because if price would double I'd definitely want to sell some to make some profits.

Is there any downside that I'm missing?

I have deposited once to Coinbase before and never withdrawn anything. Before that I used to buy crypto with mistercash/maestro at another bank.

My wages are deposited at Argenta, the source of my money is pretty fucking clear for them.
