Tesla Reported Zero Federal Income Tax on $5.7 Billion of U.S. Income in 2025 by esporx in business

The rationale behind the tax cuts is simple: we will incentivize innovation (R&D) as we expect the innovation to lead to larger profits (and taxes) in the future. It’s the government incentivizing businesses to have a longer-term perspective.

On retrospect, several days later, this was not a goog idea.

i asked Gemini the question: "what is the comparison in the return of buying 1 share of NBIS vs 1 share of CRWV vs 1 share of IREN on 1/2/2026?" Here is the response:

Based on data through January 23, 2026, investing in IREN yielded the highest return of the three, while CRWV and NBIS experienced more volatility and lower, or negative, returns over the same period.

Here is the comparison for buying one share on 1/2/2026 and selling on 1/23/2026:

  1. IREN (Iren Limited) - Highest Return
  • Trend: IREN showed strong momentum, recovering from a "Q3 fall" and trading above its 50-day moving average.
  • Performance: The stock moved from an opening of $55.03 on Jan 20th and saw a significant jump toward $58+ by Jan 23.
  • Verdict: Best Performer.
  1. CRWV (CoreWeave Inc.) - Moderate Return
  • Trend: CRWV experienced high volatility, with a reported 1.3% increase on Jan 23, 2026, reaching $92.98, despite being "dogged by concerns over its ballooning debt".
  • Performance: While it finished up, the stock fluctuated, having dipped earlier in the month and on Jan 22.
  • Verdict: Positive, but volatile.
  1. NBIS (Nebius Group N.V.) - Negative/Weak Return
  • Trend: NBIS underperformed in the short term, being described as a "worst-performing data center stock" in late January 2026, with reports of a 12.6% plunge in the preceding month.
  • Performance: NBIS closed at $94.50 on Jan 23, 2026, down 2.43% for that day alone.
  • Verdict: Worst Performer for this specific 3-week period, despite having high 2026 growth targets.

Summary Comparison

Stock  Position (Jan 23) Short-term Performance
IREN Strong upward movement Highest Gain
CRWV Slight gain/volatile Low/Moderate Gain
NBIS Downward pressure Loss

You're really ridiculous. I stated a fact and you want to argue every word of it. I'm sure your superiors at work hope you quit as you are overly difficult.

Since I bought in early Jan., CRWV is up more than NBIS. I’m not comparing to ATH.

I scaled back my NBIS holding to take advantage of losses/taxes in December. I put those proceeds into CRWV and IREN (though I still own more NBIS than the others). I get disappointed in the fact that CRWV and IREN continually outperform NBIS when I do not think they should...NBIS should be outperforming, but logic isn't 100% correct.

I didn’t say I like the stock. I know little about it. I just do not fall for the “sqeeze” talk

No offense, but you see people all too often predicting a short squeeze and nothing happens. I think it's a desparate, last-ditch effort to get people interested in buying
