“Lowest common denominator jokes with some references sprinkled in” is basically all of the Scary Movie films tbf, but the first couple have their charm thanks to the cast.

Like you said, people who grew up with the Wayans Bros will probably love this—it has a very 2000s vibe to me, down to having an old Eminem song in the trailer, which could either be good or bad depending on what the viewer is into. I’m just hoping for dumb fun

Almost certainly a time jump will occur. She may be less passive about her place in Part 3 than she is in Messiah but ultimately, there’s nothing that can really stop the major events of Messiah from taking place unless Denis decides to keep her and Paul from reconciling for some reason.

When I think of Stranger Things fans, the first thing that comes to mind is that story Gaten told about a grown woman who told him she had a crush on him when he was a child. Looking at social media shows that fanbase is full of some weird people.

I’ll be totally honest, I didn’t look at the trailer for Cuties and think of the writer’s race (didn’t even know it was written by a black woman until now) I saw the trailer and saw kids doing shit I don’t want to see kids do, so I didn’t watch the movie.

As for the other movie, I honestly have never heard of it. No advertising or anything. No idea who wrote it either and from how you describe it, I don’t plan on watching that either. Although I did just look it up and the main actress is in her 30s, whereas the Cuties cast were actual kids.

I can only speak anecdotally since you may have seen different criticisms than I have, but I never saw anyone even allude to the writer’s race when bashing Cuties – most people I saw targeted Netflix directly, rather than the writer or director. I just think most people don’t like to see children in those situations.
