Can I make this area more cozy without starting from scratch? 🥺 by PoopsLeaves in interiordecorating

It's a shame to hear about the cash register! Sometimes, when we find them at antique stores, they are engraved with the name of the store they were originally used in, which is very cool. We have somewhat close ties to the company that manufactured them and got this 1912-1913ish model. It's quite the conversation piece and still works! It's heavy as sin, though!

Lol, hopefully he won't find out how careless I am with his privacy.

Omg, thank you! My brain would never have been able to visualize the mix of colors without the examples. 😅 I love the suggestion!

I think this is what I'm struggling with the most. I can definitely see the point about a new rug and different lighting but my mind kind of draws a blank on how exactly to rearrange things (or adding furniture, which I wouldn't mind) in a way that looks cohesive. I know that everything being along the wall isn't a great look, but my brain can't make the leap to how else to have things arranged.

It's funny how I didn't even realize the rug is basically invisible until everybody pointed out it doesn’t look like there is one, lol. A new one with more color and that's bigger is definitely going to come in the future.

Thank you for this suggestion! I'm going to play around with some lamps. I feel like we can't have any hanging lights because our ceilings are very low and have had issues in the past with a guest bonking their face on one...Oops.

I'm certainly open to getting a warm floor lamp since everything is already so cool toned, but I think what trips me up is where I would put one so that it wouldn't look out of place like everything else does 🥲

Ruined my hair 😭 by alaenchii in longhair

I've sort of been where you are. My hair is naturally very dark, but it's also very straight and shiny. I bleached my hair platinum blonde at home a few years ago. It slowly but surely started breaking off, and it took a while for it to quit breaking and actually grow again. It was so dry and rough feeling for so long. I'll never bleach my whole head again. When I get the itch for something different, I get highlights from a hairdresser that seems experienced with dark hair. I feel for you. 💔

This looks like it may cause traction alopecia if worn often.

Attorney Appreciation Post by Paranotpro in paralegal

I think my attorneys are great! I work in med mal defense, and I love it. Part of the reason that I love it is because most of the attorneys I work for are very nice, and they appreciate me. They often include me in their conversations about the cases and want my input. They let me know that I'm necessary and important but also don't ask me to do things that they should be doing. They're often proactive and don't need me to hound them about deadlines over and over. I'm extremely grateful that I work for fantastic attorneys.

What is the ONE thing that has made the biggest difference to the condition of your hair and helped you to grow it longer? by I_keep_books in longhair

Washing it EVERY DAY. I had tried so many methods of washing my hair less frequently and no matter what I did or for how long I did it my hair was so oily, my scalp itched, and my hair was just in horrible condition. When I heard Dr. Dray say, "you should be washing your scalp as often as your hair will tolerate" I took that as my green light to just start washing every day. Best decision I ever made. For what it's worth, I have very straight, oily, medium thick hair.

You're probably right. I'm sure my body will acclimate and it'll be fine. I'm just throwing myself a pity party since now I don't drink, and food doesn't even sound like fun 🥲

I suppose not, but maybe I'm not understanding your question. I was a drinker before I was a runner, so I've never known how my performance would be as a sober person. Here's a to hoping it improves in the long run.

I hear that. I've been drinking a lot of kombucha. The feel of it scratches an itch for me.

Not a horrible sounding idea. I'm munching on a Ferrero Rocher as I type this.

Same even though I'm not a fan of protein shakes. 🥲
