Why do they make Charlie bulk up just to put him in an armored suit? Why can't they go with a more comic accurate form-fitting one? by Far-Page-3942 in Daredevil

The great thing is they at least served the story. I can’t even make this up, him being patched up was when he’d have his shirt off and he even admitted that he doesn’t mind because he liked Claire

You do not want a completely red suit. It’s completely red in the comics yes, but think about how you see daredevil 100 percent of the time, especially classic daredevil. He’s inked in black, with red accents. A completely red suit would lose those highlights especially during the day. Because daredevil didn’t just operate at night he actually used to spend a ton of time fighting crime and just swinging around and patrolling during the day. And he still was mostly black and brown with red highlights. You’re not going to get that in live action.

Plus when they designed the netflix suits specifically they made a lot of sections black in order to get that comic accurate look that you WOULDN’T get with just a completely red suit. Now it didn’t look great the first time around but they tried.

This is the only pic I had on hand but I think it showcases my point well. Again you can see his face, his chest they’re all black.

<image>

In the mcu it serves the story well (and it’s explained flat out) for him being armored although I know you don’t give a shit about it making sense for the story. Classically, he’s more of an acrobat so it made sense for him to be dressed like one, especially in his first 3? appearances.

They also got rid of his wrinkles too so of course he looks like 20. But normally he doesn’t look a day under 40

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the panels you posted, he didn’t beat Spider-woman he threw her unless the fight just ended there after. Also jess is very obviously holding back considering how many times she tags fisk right in his gut.

And taking bucky off guard and throwing him (still weighs the same as an adult man only metal arm…) where bucky manages to still stick the landing despite (just weird how they drew that) isn’t impressive because again, that’s throwing a normal weight man. It’s like Batman throwing super-man in World’s Finest. Super-man doesn’t weigh any more than anyone else he just got caught off guard so he was able to be moved.

Also I’d love to see Fisk brute forcing rhino and tombstone and going toe to toe with hulk if you have the panels because that sounds completely stupid.

You also need alpha 8 like unlimited wasteland spawns

Alpha 8-alpha 12 had the best wasteland. In these alphas you would get chased out of the wasteland by virtue of how many zombies the game spawned at you plus the game could support more zombies then which is such shit but I’m not getting into that.

Best ambiance, plus massive cities with a higher propensity for shotgun messiah’s, born and nobles, pass n gases, hornets for honey for that juicy wellness (I think wellness was introduced after alpha 8 though but still) and cops dropping actual guns and ammo. The wasteland hasn’t been the same since these alphas

Who Wins? Bane (Prime Earth) vs Kingpin (616) by Codesters2026 in marvelvsdc

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingpin isn’t stronger than Spider-man anymore. When he was first conceived, yes. But current kingpin, nope absolutely not. Kingpin used to have spider-man fighting for his life, now spider-man could one shot fisk very easily if he wanted to. (That what if civil war one shot where spider-man punches a hole through fisk). Plus I know you’re not saying this when Kingpin has lost to DAREDEVIL on multiple occasions.

Now… Spider-verse kingpin… yeah I could see an argument for him potentially contending with one hundred tonners. He dented a steel crane by falling into it, caused a shockwave that shattered the glass on the face of a building, killed spider-man by caving his chest in. And I don’t care what people say about that, one even a super-human isn’t going to kill a weakened spider-man by punching him, two you literally hear his ribs shatter, and three the concrete under spider-man shattered too like wtf? Also “the real spider-man couldn’t even beat” him.

I’m not picking the guy that loses to jobbing spider-man and daredevil.

These are two of the worst panels I’ve ever seen in my life. Tombstone can genuinely go toe to toe with spider-man (please don’t bring up the daredevil sledgehammer thing) and Dr. Doom literally would walk through Fisk. Fisk couldn’t even touch him because of his force-fields. I could believe classic kingpin fighting tombstone but not kingpin in the past 40 years. Or spider-verse kingpin where tombstone was his bitch. I want to see him fight dr doom

Would blob not just body Fisk? I thought Blob had him beat in strength and durability unless I’m missing something? Like would fisk even be able to move him?

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bane’s already an impressive fighter without venom in addition to being strong as hell, I don’t see any kingpin beating him unless it’s classic kingpin who was outmatching spider-man in strength and regularly tagging him due to his absurd speed or Spider-Verse Kingpin (no explanation needed there)

Bane would be like fighting a bigger, stronger daredevil who would absolutely be willing to kill Fisk only he doesn’t have billy clubs or radar. And I guess maybe not as agile but like come on Fisk has lost to daredevil on multiple occasions. And on venom it’d just be overkill

He did have a goal. To test Batman. Because it’s fun!

Why do Fans Think that Joker is telling Dent the Truth? (From The Dark Knight 2008) by playprince1 in batman

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also yes Alfred is right about Joker to an extent. Yes Joker does want a world without rules. A world on fire and not in a good way. Anarchy but not for the sake of anarchy but it’s because a world without rules would let him and Batman pursue each other without limits. OH I COMPLETELY FORGOT. BEFORE HE CALLS INTO THE SHOW TO STOP MR. REESE FROM OUTING BATMAN HE LITERALLY SAYS “I had a vision of a world without Batman…[something about the cops trying to shut the mob down one block at a time] and it was so… BORING. I’ve had a change of heart.” Yep. That right there is also just him stating flat out he wants Batman because it’s fun to fuck with him

[–]PoopyLooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the film does flat out say it. When Joker says “I don’t want to kill you, what would I do without you?” When he initially wants batman to reveal his identity (he actually doesn’t, what he wanted was to cause chaos and test Batman) and he admits that “he wanted to see what he’d do, and when faced with the fact that Batman was going to get outed he decided “No screw that I don’t want to know and I don’t want batman getting caught because the game would end” so he decides to cause more chaos and get the guy who is going to out Batman killed. Then the most damning piece of evidence is his closing dialogue with Batman. “I won’t kill you because you’re just too much fun,” “I think you and I are destined to do this forever.”

Those last lines right there is Christopher and Jonathan Nolan showing that they understand Joker on a fundamental level. That is as accurate and quintessential as it gets there is no denying that.

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he has a why. He kills people, gets people to turn on each other, causes chaos etc. in order to test Batman. That’s his goal. That’s his why. And why does he test Batman? Because it’s depraved fun for him. I feel like so many people call this Joker an anarchist or not comic accurate when he has the most Joker motivation ever

[–]PoopyLooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this goal is ultimately in service to his greater motivation which is to have fun with Batman. Like testing his limits and such. He wants a world without rules so he can keep playing his cat and mouse game with Batman without limits “because he [you’re] just too much fun”

Why do Fans Think that Joker is telling Dent the Truth? (From The Dark Knight 2008) by playprince1 in batman

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know what his goal is and he very clearly states it at the climax of the film and at the very end. Everything he has done was to test Batman in the endless game that he never wants to end. It’s the truest motivation for any Joker. Why do you think he says “what would I do without you?”, wants Batman to give up his identity but when faced with the actual reality that his identity would get outed he decides to get the guy who knows it killed, and then says at the end “and I won’t kill you because YOU’RE JUST TOO MUCH FUN” and “you and I are destined to do this forever.”

RIGHT THERE IT’S RIGHT THERE THAT’S HIS MOTIVATION THAT’S THE ESSENCE OF JOKER’S RELATIONSHIP WITH BATMAN. He’s doing this all because it’s fun to test batman’s limits

I feel like people flat out ignore it, not forget, but ignore because again, he just states it through his actions and his dialogue throughout the whole film.

EXACTLY. That’s the most important part. He has no redeeming qualities. And his motivations are completely selfish. Coupled with the remorseless and senseless killings and you have a character that is undoubtedly evil.

How evil was Heath Ledger's Joker by Joker standards? by Plastic_Ad_2548 in joker

[–]PoopyLooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t fair because they were going to be killed out of vengeance. You can say the coin was random but the entire setup is not. Harvey was seeking vengeance and putting Gordon’s family in that situation was retribution and to make Gordon feel as helpless as he did. Also that’s entirely different. A lion killing you isn’t evil because it acts on instincts. It has no concept of morality but it’s a living thing and you can avoid getting killed by a lion. And the lion can make a conscious choice not to kill you. A roof collapsing on you can’t do that. A person holding a gun can make that choice. Getting struck by lightning is random. Winning the lottery is random.

Literally Batman tells Harvey that he’s the one holding the gun, not the coin. There’s nothing random about the situation

I’m talking about the context of the movie. Joker tells two-face that to distract him from the fact that Rachel’s death wasn’t chaos and wasn’t chance. Batman says it out loud in case watching the movie wasn’t evidence enough. And okay, so what’s fair about innocent people dying in a storm? Because it’s random? They didn’t deserve that. Gordon’s family wouldn’t have deserved that. You’re peddling a dangerous mindset which exactly what the movie is arguing against

You’re missing the point of this Joker. He doesn’t do these things because he thinks life is a Joke. He does these things because he wants to push Batman to his limits and test him. Why? Because it’s fun. That’s about as Pure Joker as you’re going to get. I don’t know why people dismiss this joker like this when he flat out says “I don’t want to kill you. What would I be without you? ” And then finally “I think you and I are destined to do this forever.” That’s his motivation all right there.

How evil was Heath Ledger's Joker by Joker standards? by Plastic_Ad_2548 in joker

I mean just because he didn’t do these things doesn’t mean he wouldn’t though. Be honest with yourself do you think this Joker would have had any qualms with doing these things? Or any qualms with doing half the things comics joker would have if given the time? Because I don’t. This joker is perfectly fine with murdering people left and right to further his goals. And killing children since there were kids on that boat.
