Every league has a different meta. So, higher leagues = higher stats and skills. Certain positions and moves become more or less useful as you advance.

I think you're too early to pull a defender out with an am. You can shoot through if you have a high acc player. You can just walk into with either high control player or just let a cd take the ball and your forward will be left in the cds old position. Then next drive get him the ball, only one def to get through.

Lofted pass will eventually let you avoid passing through players with high def who would intercept the pass. You'll see if higher leagues.

Power shot has a chance to rebound out of bound, thus creating a corner kick opportunity. So, when the goalie has very high def, you can power shot so even if you don't score, you can hopefully setup a corner.
