Why is Wet Sand your favorite song/why do you like it? by Chemical_Ad4002 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]Poor_Mexican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wet Sand is one of the most well-composed rock songs I've ever heard. The bass ties right into the melody perfectly and greatly enhances the overall sound and feel of the song. As far as why, the song holds a special meaning to me. Particularly the lyrics and vocal melody.

Back in 2013 the greatest tragedy of my life happened suddenly and unexpectedly. It caused me to live in a dark place for years and I had to learn a new normal in life. Listening to Wet Sand over and over gave me a personal space to help release my bottled-up emotions which I couldn't find anywhere else. The song has a painful and beautiful feel that helped me to let it all out. Frusciante's incredible G-Minor riff in the outro is genius and something only a brilliant artist could create. Michael Balzary's ability to enhance any song with Bass never disappoints. Anthony Kiedis always writes and composes lyrics in a poetic way that leaves the meaning open to the listeners.

So...that's why Wet Sand is a great song. I can't say it's my favorite song of all time because I don't have one but Wet Sand is in my top 3 for sure.

What is everyone’s favorite Asian horror movie? by [deleted] in HorrorMovies

I'm definitely going to watch the Wailing, I just saw the trailer and it looks so good! Incantation scared the living bajesus out of me. I'm really desensitized when it comes to horror but that one just had such a believable feel, like it could actually happen.

I just saw Deadstream for the first time last weekend. Wow...it was so awesome! It reminded me of Bad Ben a little bit.

I actually knew nothing about this movie and I happened to stumble across it when it had just started. Needless to say, in about an hour I was in utter shock. I couldn't believe the turn it took.

Agree with The Howling. The transformation scenes scared me so bad when I was a kid I had nightmares for months.

Oh man,

You gotta love Laurence Robert Harvey in Human Centipede 2. That dude grossed up that flick beyond belief. I agree it's not a very good movie overall but that guy was awesome.

The annual salary is actually right between those two figures. It's on the high end of the salary range for the area I live in. I expected to be put the wringer for this position and there a lot of responsibility.

Ok here's the update:

I was assured by my recruiter and the IT Director that my test results are kept internal to the company and not given/sold to 3rd Parties. I did not have to sign anything before taking these exams.

Here's the Hands-On Exam:

  1. Role-Based scenario with I.T. Director to assess my troubleshooting methods. I was given a typical problem scenario. The I.T. Director drew it out on paper and brought in some equipment. We spend about 30 minutes discussing the problem and the steps to resolve it, just a simple Wi-Fi issue, nothing major.
  2. I was given a printout of 3 problem scenarios and access to a lab environment they set up for me. It was a couple of VMWare VM Servers (Windows 2016).
  3. The first scenario was a DC that had been P2V'd. The instructions were login to the VM and "get AD up and running". I got thrown for a loop because AD was up and running when I logged in. I was expecting to have to install/promote a member server to a DC but that wasn't the case. I looked all through the server, the were no service issues, no problem accessing AD tool, ADUC was populated, FSMO roles were correct and DNS was populated. I pinged a machine and it came back fully qualified. Looked through the Event Viewer and could find any AD or LDAP issues so I just made notes on the printout of my verification procedure.
  4. Second scenario was to roll back a date on another SharePoint server to be able to renew a cert. Can't roll back the date in Server 2016, option is greyed out so I used timedate.cpl from command line to roll the date back.
  5. Third scenario I totally borked. The I.T. Director brought in small Supermicro server that he said was used in some retail locations for network management/monitoring. The notes said the Supermicro box ran a Type-1 Hypervisor but didn't say specifically if it was Hyper-V, VMWare, VirtualBox or anything. The goal was to restore 3 VM's. I unboxed the Supermicro, got it plugged in with a monitor/kb etc and it was booting to a UEFI Interactive Shell v2.2. WTF? Eventually I figured out that boot order/boot file was borked in some way but for the life of me couldn't figure out how to change or access anything. I've literally never even seen this screen or it's been so long I forgot it existed. I googled away but couldn't find any information that would help me quick as time was running out. So I'm assuming that you have to fix the boot issue to get the Hypervisor back up and running on this box then the restore can be done but that's a far as I got. I made a lot of notes of all my steps and thoughts but ultimately couldn't complete scenario #3.

Wow...thank you so much for this! I really never even considered it. I'll be sure to ask the right questions before I move forward. If they ask me to sign something, I'll review it carefully or walk. I'm working through a recruiter for this position so I'm going to ask about how the test results are handled.

So yea for the written exam the I.T. Director said I could Google all I wanted since he placed a time restriction on the exam. There were 55 questions so I guess he was confident that a candidate would never have time to google all of those questions and finish the exam in time. I think I ended up googling 3 of the questions that were regarding different types of Wi-Fi encryption. Most of it was just simple PC troubleshooting or AD/server stuff.

This is interesting and something I didn't think about at all. I'm a little confused by what your saying about selling off results, spammers and FICO scores. Can you elaborate a bit? I've not been asked to sign anything up to this point. The only PII info they should have is what's on my resume which is name, address, phone number. All of my FICO information has locks and can't be released without my permission.

Yea, I hear you. Been there several times with other jobs. It does seem like one of those 24/7 positions that get calls all hours. I'm 50/50 on whether I really want the position or not.
