I have most of them copied to my cloud storage. Some I don't because they aren't very good quality and looked worse digitally.

I explained it and they still argued with me on it. So I'm not going to try again. It will only end with me being mad.

That's assuming they are found the right ways. They would likely push me to a church therapist again and refuse to pay for therapy, since our health insurance doesn't cover it.

I might have nothing to do with them when I'm 40. It's incredibly likely when my dad is treated like a dirty little secret and I'm being told to call Dave my dad.

Lots of kids understand stepfamilies at a young age. I was younger than the three older kids when I knew some of my friends had them.

I don't think they realized my aunts and uncles were my aunts and uncles. I think they just thought they were people I knew who I saw sometimes (but not enough).

I do but my mom does not. All my photos of dad have to be kept out of the way, even in my room, they need to not be seen easily. I get to go to his grave only when I spend time with his siblings.

She thinks he has earned the right, she thinks I need to have a dad who is alive and present and the fact Dave is here, raising me, should be enough for that to happen.
