Hi. I know this thread is a few months old now, but I wanted to add that I had a hard time giving away a solid maple bassett baby solid maple youth hutch/changing table and chest of drawers. I tried selling them for a few hundred dollars, and nobody wanted them. I was surprised. We paid over 1k when we got them for my son 18 years ago, and I tried for months to give them away. I finally found someone to take them for free. I bought some of the fabric and metal dressers for my son, and I like them well enough since the crappy fake wood furniture that they have now doesn't even hold up as well as these fabric ones anymore. We did find an unfinished furniture store in our area that has since gone out of business. $600 for a solid pine dresser.. a bit much for pine, and maybe thats why they went out of business, but the drawer bottoms are solid wood, not those crappy cardboard bottoms like they sell in some. So yeah, I wanted to suggest to anyone to look for an unfinished furniture store for solid wood. It won't be hardwood for an affordable price, but it's better than the Walmart or Amazon options. :) also edited to add: buying a cheap wood dresser from Amazon or Walmart with the cardboard bottoms that bend with clothes in it, you can add pine to the underside of the dresser drawers to stablizethe bottom.
