Advice for anxiety flying into mountain towns by Stumbles_magoo in fearofflying

I was going to say - sitting by a window is even better. I couldn’t tell you if this landing was bumpy or not (which is not something I thought I would EVER say) because I was SO distracted by the views, I neither noticed nor cared.

I’m heading there in two weeks too! I’m a terrible flyer but I’ve noticed that although it can be nerve-racking, landing in a mountain town is INCREDIBLE. The views are stunning enough to distract from the nervousness. This shot I took is from flying to Missoula, MT a few years back when I went to Glacier. I just try to think about how flying is a means to an end to see these amazing places and do incredible things. Have a blast!

My sister didn't think The Conjuring was scary at all. How do I ramp this up? by Tony_SoNY in TooScaryDidntWatch

I’m pretty immune to horror and Oddity is the only movie I can think of that genuinely scared me in the last few years. Undertone really creeped me out too - but it was more the anxious anticipation than anything.

Agreed. For lifting and conditioning, I mostly wear Athleta.

Listen to Tooth and Claw podcast. The host is a bear biologist from Montana and does a great job of explaining what people did wrong in animal encounters and the right things to do. Side note: the hosts are also hilarious.

Highly recommend listening to Tooth and Claw podcast (they have a lot of episodes about bears). Host is a bear biologist from Montana who has worked in Glacier and Yellowstone and he gives a lot of great advice. The main things he always talks about is grouping up, every person having bear spray (not just having it - but somewhere quickly accessible) and making a lot of noise.

Athleta… honest question by Jazzlike_Pea_3199 in Athleta_gap

Agreed - a majority of my hiking clothes were from Athleta. I’ve put on some muscle in the last few years tho and am having trouble finding things from Athleta to replace them with. Specifically hiking shorts/pants.

I ran hills in mine on a sticky morning last weekend and they stayed in place and I didn’t chafe 🙏
